I applaud that guy.

But the real reason by we have a lack of American STEM graduates is not a lack of space or opportunity. Those majors require a great deal of WORK. Those courses and majors have gobs of what used to be referred to as "academic rigor." If you don't work hard and learn the stuff YOU WILL FAIL!

We certainly have plenty of students who are intelligent enough to succeed in the STEM subjects. But there are simply too few American students who have the maturity, determination, and willingness to devote four years of concerted effort into getting that degree. Far too many of our brightest college students are taking bullshit majors in the hope of going to law school, then leading totally unproductive but lucrative careers sponging off their more productive contemporaries.
