It was only last June that Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan was drawing national ridicule after suggesting that allowing a segment of her city’s downtown to devolve into lawlessness could be paving the way for a “summer of love.”

Thirteen months later, and eight months after she signed a city budget that slashed police funding by almost 20 percent, Durkan is singing a different tune — but she isn’t getting a lot of sympathy.

In a news conference Monday, the liberal Democrat who has already announced she’s not running for re-election said the Emerald City is going to have to rebuild its police force.

Hopefully the cops take advantage of the self imposed crisis and gouge for top dollar.

And only bad cops who can't get jobs elsewhere.

Well, that would be the predictable result. The one thing that is guaranteed to not address any problems with police interactions is decreasing the funding. That is blatantly obvious.

Seattle should be labeled a wild nature preserve for Left winged lunatics and leave it at that.

I suppose if conservatives wanted to go on a hunting expedition if they could go there, but otherwise stay the hell out!
