It's a hard pill to swallow, but I must admit, what Todd is saying is true. I started out on this thread arguing for donation limits, but that's already on the books. There's really no way under this capitalist-run system, to control the rich from influencing elections and our government with their money. That's why Marx and all of the socialist revolutionaries of the past understood, that there is no way to reform capitalism or transition into a socialist or communist economy and society. It's only through a revolution or "class warfare" that socialism will replace this capitalist system. It won't be through a peaceful process of reform and Todd presents us with a good argument as to why that's the case. There's no way to fix cronyism, it's endemic to capitalism.

Of course the corporations will try to pay the politicians to ignore our pleas to set limits on campaign contributions. What type of politician would be more susceptible to such bribing? A slightly rich one or a dirty filthy stinking rich one? The libs and Democrats get upset when some of us vote for people with money. But the truth is they are less likely to be bribed than others. And if they are, it's usually big money and as a result everybody knows and scandals erupt quickly. Such is as what happened in Peru lately. A modest person representing the lower class accepted a bribe for staggering small amount. However that was all a plot by his political enemies, to catch him doing so and make a scandal of it. All so they could put their infinitely more corrupt candidate in office. It would be the equivalent of framing Biden for something stupid to get Harris in, who ultimately invites globalists right in to take us over.
