Sudanā€™s transitional government agreed to separate religion from the state, ending 30 years of Islamic rule in the North African nation.

Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and Abdel-Aziz al-Hilu, a leader of the Sudan Peopleā€™s Liberation Movement-North rebel group, signed a declaration in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Thursday adopting the principle.

ā€œFor Sudan to become a democratic country where the rights of all citizens are enshrined, the constitution should be based on the principle of ā€˜separation of religion and state,ā€™ in the absence of which the right to self-determination must be respected,ā€ the document states.

Progress. However let's hope they don't interpret the concept to mean religion is buried into non-public expression, as the Democrats in America interpret it.

Sunni Man is correct. Any arrangement that curtails Islam, will only be temporary. Eventually, it will revert back to being a nation run by Sharia Law. Any Muslim that truly believes him/herself to be a true follower of Islam, will always strive to have Islamic Law rule the land and reduce all non-Muslims to second-class citizens, or outright kill them. Frankly, it's the most violent religion on the face of the planet. Over a billion brainwashed fools, fed that hateful nonsense from childhood onward.

That's cool, but given the track record I would not bet much on things changing in Sudan.

LOL it's like Kemal's 'secularizing' Turkey; he merely killed everybody he didn't like first. especially Christians, and then proclaimed Trukey Turkey was 'secular n stuff'. Same with Sudan; they've murdered or forcefully converted everybody already , so this 'change' means nothing, except faggots of course are hoping they turn it into a kiddie brothel mecca for butt raping little boys since the Asian shitholes are cracking down now.

VERY little. Let's see what rights you have as a christian being attacked by tolerant Muzzies

Democrats have adopted the Russian view of religion. You can have your religion, just keep it to yourself.

Democrats want to toss Christians into ovens. They're fine with Islamists, cuz Jerry Falwell said bad stuff about faggots and Islam.

I see your racist/xenophobic inclination has figured out how to call Islam primitive while giving yourself a way to dance around the claim! How do you propose to deny it? by telling us you were talking about all religion not just the religion you mentioned specifically...won't fly

That is very good news.

Thank you for posting it.

Much of the world's problems today are the result of decades of know-it-all western nations going to other countries they deem inferior and telling them how to live and what to think. ...
Ans these truly inferior nations seem to comply.
