Actually, the first virus was detected in plants only in 1892 ... only 128 years ago.

Prior to that, despite the fact that we had immunization, it was not known precisely what viruses were or how they transmitted disease. It wasn't until 1926 that viruses were determined to be extremely small particles and not liquid.

Fine, the cumulative knowledge gained regarding epidemics is all but cast aside. There have been epidemics since man formed societies. These epidemics, plagues follow very similar patterns.
Yet any acknowledgement of those patterns is disregarded as the facade of this NOVEL virus is pushed.
It's disgusting.

One of the effects of 24-hour news and social media is (and we've seen this with the global warming hysteria), a lot more scientists and experts are needed to fill the news with opinions and quotes. Since every expert can't get his 15-minutes of Internet/Cable fame, they must choose the one with the opinions most likely to cause panic and fear ... to keep people tuned in for updates.

It's not important that the opinions be based on any hard science or fact, or even that the opinions agree with the facts, they just have to be scary and inspire doom ... otherwise people will tune away from the news and watch Netflix or Internet porn.

You're right...absolutely. Sad man.

If it will get high enough ratings, your experts don't even have to be old enough to drive a car.

It's not sad .. it's just a fact. Don't base you knowledge on what you hear on the news which is just entertainment after all. Basing your world view on what you seen on the news is like getting a PhD in Physics from watching all the "Star Wars" movies.

True. I should clarify. What is 'sad' are those who gobble it up without question. They will vomit it back in your face in a moments notice as if it were gospel.
That is sad.

I heard that lady doctor on FOX news weeks ago that said viruses often mutate down.....weaker rather than deadlier.....if the host dies the virus dies too so if it comes out swinging and killing people it weakens after a while....seems she may have been right....

1892? What a coincidence! That’s almost the same year the world was created according to global warming extremist records.

From your mouth to God's ears!!!!

But you would have to ask, if the Arizona U's conclusion is correct, why is the European COVID mutation, vs the original WUHAN COVID much more deadly than the original and not weaker?
