What is "intellectual diversity" in your view and why is this not?

Intellectual diversity would be about diversity of ideas, cosmology and concepts from economics to science to law and math.

It is not reflected in ethnic diversity among Marxists.

Intellectual diversity is a bit more broad - it is a diversity of concepts, but also a diversity of view points within those concepts.

Be VERY specific and give us a list of Gays, women and blacks that wrote books that contributed to the formation of Western Civilization from say year 0 through the 1700'? How about from the year 500 BC to the year 0? A list please.

Well Tubman helped spur the end of slavery by popularizing the suffering of black slaves, so she definitely had an impact.

You certainly dont think that absolutely no blacks, women or gay people had an impact on Western Civilization, do you?

You keep claiming in this thread all the students want is reasonable diversity. They demanded half the books be removed. Yet you can not name any replacements for them and ask why? Just proof you are running interference in the CDZ in hopes of making undecided believe it was simply a reasonable request by those students instead of a racist demand that white males be removed.

The history of Western Civilization starts in the BC's and runs to the 17 or 18 hundreds after that it is just history. Be specific now and remind us how women were enfranchised in those eras and contributed lots of volumes to western civilization's formation and written word that chronicles it. Remind us how many Black men or women had anything to do with Western Civilization's formation and creation. How there are lots of books by those authors that are being ignored. Sure there were a few and I am sure they are included. Pay close attention now... the Students DEMANDED HALF the authors be removed and replaced. I am simply asking for who replaces them? Coyote can not answer that and even said why should she?

"Racism" is used only to describe discrimination against people of color.

Discrimination against Caucasians is not considered to be "racism."

Therefore, those university students feel that they are reducing racism by eliminating any books written by Caucasians.

No doubt those students really, truly believe in their stance, and no amount of debate will change their minds.

In the coming decades, authors like Shakespeare, for example, will be replaced by authors of color.
