statues being removed again

You need to look up the word traitor and pick up a US history book....
Call them what you will, Lee and Jackson renounced United States citizenship, rejected the United States Constitution, and took up arms against United States troops defending the United States on United States soil.

[One statue] was dedicated in 1921 and the former in 1924, a few days after the Ku Klux Klan held a major rally at the site. That’s no coincidence, as that was the Klan’s heyday and the height of segregation and Jim Crow, when lynchings in the south were still common.

It was a struggle and exacted a price, but effigies erected by racists in the 1920s do not belong anywhere in the United States.

Unite the Right rally was a white supremacist rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, from August 11 to 12, 2017. Far-right groups participated, including self-identified members of the alt-right, neo-Confederates, neo-fascists, white nationalists, neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and various right-wing militias. Some groups chanted racist and antisemitic slogans and carried weapons, Nazi and neo-Nazi symbols, Confederate battle flags, and other symbols of various past and present anti-Islamic and anti-Semitic groups. The organizers' stated goals included unifying the American white nationalist movement and opposing the proposed removal of the statue of General Robert E. Lee from Charlottesville's former Lee Park.

The far-right rally and demonstration over a weekend in August 2017 erupted in violent clashes with counter-protesters, leading ultimately to counter-protester Heather Heyer being murdered when a white supremacist rammed his car into a crowd...
She was a counter-protester that weekend, when many extremists were seen wearing Ku Klux Klan regalia, military-style garb or a variety of other outfits often associated with the far right, some carrying weapons and paraphernalia with neo-Nazi symbols.

Erasing our history will ensure that we live it again...its dumb and short sighted....they aren't just removing statues...they are removing teaching of the past if it offends weak minded people....China did this when Mao took over...

Just before World War II America was busy pulling up streetcar tracks. Sending the metal to Japan to be used to make military hardware to kill Americans.

Now here we are tearing down statues to send the scrap metal to China to be used to make military hardware to kill Americans.

Ye who refuse to read history are doomed to repeat it.

Disposing of monuments erected by racists to individuals who rejected U.S. citizenship, renounced the U.S. Constitution, and took up arms against United States troops defending the United States are not being "erased from history." They will be accorded a place of honor in textbooks that will attest to what they did.

How is taking down a statue or monument of a racist traitor erasing history?

Apparently, your not aware that the republic governor of OK stated that as reason not to teach about the Tulsa Race Massacre or other racial history which reflects badly on our countries history.

And by extension, white history.

Erasing our history will ensure that we live it again
Removing monuments to sworn enemies of the United States from United States soil is in no way "erasing our history."

Tennessee on Thursday voted to remove the bust of Confederate General and early Ku Klux Klan leader Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Capitol.
The bust of the KKK leader was first installed at the Capitol in 1978
Forrest had amassed a fortune before the Civil War as a plantation owner and slave trader in Memphis, and after the war, he was a leader of the Klan, which terrorized Black people as it sought to reverse and restore white supremacy.
There are those who would attempt to erase that history from our history books. Let's be sure that does not happen.
