State employee charged with abusing power | NevadaAppeal.com
A Carson City man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday charging him with abusing his power as a state employee.
Brian Hunt, 37, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony misconduct of a public officer and obtaining and using personal identifying information for unlawful purpose by a public employee.
Jail records indicate Hunt had been in custody since Sept. 12 for contempt of court.
He was arrested by an officer with Carson City Alternative Sentencing. It was unclear at press time what the contempt charge stemmed from.
A criminal complaint filed in Carson City Justice Court on Tuesday alleges that Hunt, a Department of Technology employee, created key cards and entered the Richard H. Bryan Office Building on Stewart Street after hours on 19 occasions to obtain information to harass his estranged wife and obtain information from her telephone.
