According to this piece, Columbia Pictures is making moves to produce and film a version more closely based on the 1959 novel. Will it be any better? Who knows. But I'll bet the special effects will be awesome.

I've read a few Heinlein books, and honestly thought he was overrated. I'm one of the few people I know who thought Stranger in a Strange Land sucked.

He was never my favorite, either. His characters were two dimensional, and he was so sexist in his assumptions, it bordered on caricature some times.

I haven't read that many of his books, but I think every one I did read had some old man banging a bunch of young chicks for whatever reason. Heinlein was obviously just a dirty old man writing out his own fantasies.
