Spinach

If you're into really decadent, add some roquefort or feta (after dressing) gourmet olives, chopped egg.
Fucking killer.

Ahh I do make bacon grease topping to put over fresh garden lettuce.
I grew up calliing that "Killed Lettuce" ? I guess it was dead :)

However spinach is still bitter to me no matter what.

Try mustard greens or collards.

Then spinach will taste like wonderbread.

I read this title of this thread and had a minor heart attack.

That's some inside humor for the crowd from "the other place", and I'll leave it at that.

But yeah, the food spinich rocks.

I had the exact same reaction!

I thought this was an intro thread.

Same here, I was ready to go off on the idea....

If I could annihilate the damn rabbits I would grow it in my garden.

Electric fence with the first strand about 8 inches off the ground. Works great, unless a skunk gets into it  Then no gardening for a few days.

I have at least 3 Popeye dvds. I used to have the one with Robin Williams, as well.

All spinach haters, I have one word...

Here's a recipe...but the one I used had egg in it too. This one doesn't.

i love spanikopita. I'm glad there are a lot of greek places around here that have it on the menu.

Spinach is good stuff. I love it steamed and then drizzled with raspberry vinegar.

Well yes, I actually was, but what does that have to do with it?

There's also a really good spinach salad that has strawberries in it and a raspberry vinagrette that's really good.

I'd probably eat that until I got sick.

Oh, you haven't had it done right. You have to cut off those stems.

Heat up a pan. Cook some bacon in it. Throw a pound of stemless spinach in and throw a lid on for a few minutes....

OR...

Cut off the stems, rinse and shake your spinach, pat dry if you're obsessive.

Make a dressing of .... get this.... warmed bacon grease (fry about 2 lbs of bacon, remove bacon, chop the bacon and add it back, turn off heat) & about 1 c of honey, plus salt, pepper, poppy seed.....

Pour that shit over it.

Come back to me and tell me who's your mama.

Yikes, I felt my arteries harden just from reading the recipe.
