Just sweep it under the rug and blame covid right?

There was a 56% spike in deaths among Los Angeles County homeless people during the first year of the pandemic, which was mostly driven by drug overdoses, not COVID-19, according to county data.

Drug overdoses were the leading cause of death in both years and increased by 78% during the pandemic’s first year. There were 402 fatal overdose deaths recorded in the year prior to the pandemic, which spiked to 715 deaths in the year following the pandemic.

A total of 179 homeless people died from COVID-19 in 2020.

And your point is?? Was someone saying that drugs are not a problem?

WHAT??!!~The article says the same thing that you said. That drugs were responsible for more deaths than Covid. Who is disputing that ? Both drugs and covid are a problem, especially for the homeless. Do we have to have a political pissing match over which is killing more people? Again, what is your point?

I commented on this several years ago.
Anyone else notice there are no longer hitch hikers walking down the backroads and highways?
Used to see at least a half dozen of em between Houston and San Antonio.
Not anymore, makes you wonder what happened to em.
