Trump says 'NASA was Closed & Dead' before he took charge. That's not true.

The agency has never been "closed" or "dead."

Trump tweets out that NASA was closed and dead when he took office while retweeting a video of SpaceX doing a 150 meter hop of Starship.

Starship development has been privately funded and ongoing for years now. SpaceX success in commercial crew program started under Obama, although you'd never know by the way the Trump administration speaks.

The beginnings of privatizing space travel go back further than that. It has its roots in the aftermath of the Columbia disaster during GWB's presidency. There's a poster on this board that maintains that Obama killed the space program (major ODS) but it's been evolving for almost 17 years now. NASA had no idea what it wanted to do. Why? Politicians decided for them. There were a few different projects that billions were poured into that they did not end up having. Obama was not a fan of the space program because it takes some money from other things. He pushed the private side a bit more because of it.

He didnt kill it, per se. But he cut their budget by a fifth and killed operation constellation.
Which was focused on ISS, then back to the moon and finally to Mars.
So he set us back quite a bit.
Apparently 3 billion was too much but he didnt mind giving money to terrorists.

Under the Obama/Biden "leadrership", our capability to put a man on the ISS was destroyed and we were made wholly dependent on Russia to get an astronaut there and back.

Hell, the Russians wouldn't even have a module on the ISS if Clinton didn't loot the fuck out of NASA's budget to force American taxpayers to pay for it.

It's just another example of the Democrats selling us out to our enemies.

It's true isn't it? Barry Hussein grounded the Space Shuttle program so NASA was virtually out of business. Next thing you know NASA was redirected to the non-science of global warming propaganda.
