It was at Sanapor New Guinea when it was rumored that some of us might be allowed to vote. That started a rare political discussion, about Republicans and Democrats, when one PFC infantry suggested he had heard that there was a Republican in K company. We walked down to K Company to see what a Republican looked like and saw nothing but a bunch of GI's like ourselves.
