It is amazing how many stories are out here, about Solar Power killing thousands upon thousands of birds.

I thought this had to be an old story but it is not, the latest and greatest advances in Solar Technology results in the latest and greatest destruction to the environment.

Decide for yourself.

Solar farm sets 130 birds on FIRE mid-air during tests Daily Mail Online

In a test, one third of the project’s 10,000 mirrors were moved to focus sunlight at a point 1,200 feet above ground level – at approximately twice the height of its tower.

It took biologists just an hour and a half to notice the first of the ‘streamers’ – birds that catch fire and leave a trail of smoke in the air -when entering the field of solar energy.

Biologists say 130 birds caught fire mid-air while entering an area of concentrated solar energy created by the 110-megawatt Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project near Tonopah, Nevada.

Consider this, this one plant is producing 110 mwh, yet what is proposed more than 1000 GWH!

At the magnitude proposed to be built, Solar will kill millions of birds.

To save the Earth we must kill all the birds?

Problem for Solar Thermal, zero problem for Solar PV. And that can be put on the roofs of supermarkets, factories, warehouses, and many other types of structures. And that would put the generation next to the use, so very little transmission loss.

More lies Old Crock, so easy to state the fantasy, you simply put solar pv everywhere, like every structure in the USA has an unencumbered view towards the south.

Further, how many millions of gallons of purified water will be needed to clean your dream? In southern california there is what you call a drought, yet we have water for your dream, to clean all the grime that those diesel semi-trucks spew out.

And who gets to pay for this, oh, its the Government, who will tax me, as well as force me to pay higher electric rates, while California and Oregon increase the use of Coal Energy.

lies and lies, of course for Old Crock its fantasy and ignorance.
