As more and more social power in the US is transferred from capital to government, how long before we implement something like China's social credit system? Which of our statist parties will be the first to jump on it?

It will happen eventually, there is a generation being educated and guided to Marxism. It's already here in Canada in some incarnation, lead by covert police agencies.

The old saying "do as I say, not as I (or ones kids) do". Those who pass the strongest judgement on others are usually the ones who should be judged most.

Well, China is hardly Marxist. But the one feature of Marxism they still cling to is something sadly, increasingly, common in American politics: the notion that government is the be-all, end-all, expression of a society's values. That every single problem can, and should, be solved by government. As long as we continue down that road, we're not far behind them.

That is not a feature of Marxism. Marx himself rebuked the German Workers Party of his day for putting forth a platform that supported government solutions to capitalist problems.

W kicked it off with his patriot junk. Its happening quicker and quicker. The oddity is how eager the millenials are for marxism/socialism to be ushered in as the savior. What I never foresaw is private companies that are accommodating this process and the willingness of so many millions to broadcast their entire existence through social media. The federal govt doesnt have to do anything anymore to keep tabs on someone.

Millenials are the first generation that does not have a reasonable expectation of having a better life than their parents, and Generation Z even less so.

We are already headed in that direction.
No we're not. Not like that. There are privacy issues that are certainly a matter of concern but China built their internet from the ground up to be a tool of social control. Our internet does not end at the border nor does the government have a total monopoly on web expertise.

That was literally an episode of Black mirror starring Bryce Howard.

Didn’t Google help China develop their platform?

Why do you think they have that expectation?

They did.
Google helped China develop their infrastructure years ago but what they have now is all China. They stopped depending on western sources of network tech quite a while ago because they had trouble making them set up the more totalitarian aspects of their internet.

Thats correct. However, what is alarming now are the social companies who are now monitoring, shaming, removing content based on their own subjective viewpoints.

Seems their algorithms have trouble distinguishing white supremacist content from run-of-the-mill conservative rhetoric. I wonder why that is?

Big Businesses do so because they see a future of big debt funding and supporting their companies. It's immoral

Why would they, at best our country is treading water, not really improving like it once did. Whether you agree with them or not, most think that global warming is going to make life harder for them in the future, kids as young as my son (17) see the coming problems with jobs and there not being enough to go around. Him and I have talked about it many times. The more things are automated, the less we need humans. He believes self driving vehicles as the final blow, when we no longer need truck drivers or the multitude of jobs that support them, what will we do to replace those jobs?
