Great article that explains the fundamental differences of thinking in terms of class status:

Social class as culture

Really liked this part:

"People from lower-class backgrounds are better at reading other people's emotions. They're more likely to act altruistically. "They give more and help more. If someone's in need, they'll respond," Keltner says. When poor people see someone else suffering, they have a physiological response that is missing in people with more resources."

Having watched these 'lower class' individuals and their behavior in London, I'm laughing at the claim that they act with altruistically.... unless by 'altruism' we mean robbing other people, destroying their homes and their livelihoods, and stealing from someone while they're recovering from being beaten up.

Poor people ARE better tippers, that's for damned sure.

They are also much more likely to give somebody asking for a handout some spare change.

Also, obviously, if one is dependent on another person to get by, one is more apt to study that person with the power to understand their moods.

You take away their money, they will do whatever means necessary to survive which translates to additional crimes.
