I have a big respect to Amish and their believe, hopefully more and more people will join their lively Church.Unfortunately today we have very few churches alive, the big majority of those are politically correct and already dead. Also, is somebody here who likes Amish too?

Our civilization will disappeared in fifty years, but that of Amish - never. I never heard by politically correct mainstream medias about the birth rates by Amish: 6 - 9 children per family.
It is an good evidence that Amish have a better way of Life.Additional there are not Alcohol, Pornography, Sodomy, Drugs and other liberal "values".

Probably I will go sometimes to Amish Country and spend there two or three weeks.

How fast are the Amish growing?

I could be Amish... but there is so much that would only be known about them if one was to become one. It isn't all cakes and pies.

I suppose the Amish make good homies.

I particularly like they way they tag their barns with distelfinks.

Amish are the good proof that we have a wrong way, we must be more close to our Christian routs and the Teaching of the Holy Bible, otherwise our Christian Civilization would be destroyed withing. The State should make a better support for Amish, give probably money or something else.

Better two Amish in DC as twenty democrats!

Amish drive by shooting: Clop, clop, bang, clop, clop, bang, clop, clop, bang...

Outcast Amish Clan Attacks Other Amish ...
Oct. 7, 2011 -- A group of Amish men in Bergholz, Ohio, is accused of a series of Amish-on-Amish attacks across four eastern Ohio counties, police say.
The men, called the "Bergholz Clan" and led by Bishop Sam Mullet, allegedly broke into two Amish family homes and cut men's beards and women's hair Tuesday in Carroll and Holmes counties, the Tribune Chronicle newspaper in Warren, Ohio, reported.

Beverly Cushman, Westminster College associate professor of religion and Christian education, said the act of cutting a woman's hair and a man's beard is to humiliate them. "The Bible says women are not to cut their hair, that hair is a blessing and is part of a woman's beauty and it belongs to their husband. To have hair forcefully cut is to be shamed," Cushman told the newspaper. "For the men with a beard, you can only begin to grow a beard when you get married. It is a symbol of full status, a symbol of your adult manhood. Again, for it to be cut is to be shamed."

The group of men is also believed to be responsible for an attack on a family in Trumbull County in September. arbara Miller, a victim of the September attack, told police the attackers were led by two relatives who had joined Mullet's clan. Police say the Bergholz Clan, which is under investigation by at least four sheriff's departments, is carrying out the attacks over religious differences. No arrests have been made but Holmes County Sheriff Timothy Zimmerly said Holmes County will be seeking assault and burglary charges against the attackers.

Beards and hair shorn in Amish-on-Amish attacks
7 October 2011 - The counties in Ohio where the attacks took place make up one of the largest US Amish communities
Police in the US state of Ohio are investigating a rare violent feud in the Amish community, in which members have had beards and hair cut off. Spiritual differences were said to be behind the attacks on more than half a dozen men and women, said police. The investigation is being hampered by Amish reluctance to seek police help. The tiny American Christian group, who call themselves the Plain People, generally shun modern conveniences such as electricity, televisions and cars. Amish people rejected by the mainstream community are suspected of having carried out the attacks.

'Extremely rare'

Over the past three weeks, at least six men and women have been assaulted in four different counties, losing their beards or, in the case of the women, clumps of their hair. The victims have included a 13-year-old girl and a 74-year-old man. The BBC's Paul Adams in Washington says one man was dragged from his home by the beard before his attackers tried to cut it off. In religiously conservative Amish communities, women do not cut their hair and men grow beards only after they marry. The attacks appear to target cherished symbols of Amish identity, our correspondent says.

He says that what makes them so baffling is that the attacks have been carried out by fellow Amish, apparently members of a particular clan from the town of Bergholz in rural eastern Ohio. A 57-year-old woman in Trumbull County told police her sons and a son-in-law had cut her hair and her husband's beard last month. She claimed the estranged family members were involved in a cult. The feud is thought to involve 18 Amish families, most of whom are said to be related.

Sheriff Fred Abdalla said some of the suspects had previously come to the attention of police after a threat against him, and a conviction of sexual contact with a minor. He added that no charges had been brought and the investigation was moving slowly because of Amish reluctance to seek police help. "You see this crime being committed, and I'm sitting here with my hands tied," the sheriff said. "I can't do a thing." Attacks have taken place in Carroll, Holmes, Jefferson and Trumbull counties, regions heavily populated by Amish. Professor Donald Kraybill, an Amish expert at Elizabethtown College, Pennsylvania, told the Associated Press news agency that Amish-on-Amish violence was "extremely rare."

No alcohol or porn.
That leaves me out.
And some of them Amish chicks were hot.

They are running amok in Ohio. They are a little arrogant if you ask me. They don't like outsiders much.

Most likely because outsiders don't understand or share their ways and/or heritage.

When most everything has been blended and mixed... it's kinda nice to know there are still some sects that keep themselves as pure as possible, even if it is by mere tradition in some cases.

I understand them pretty well. I live in Amish country. Have most of my life. The sect that is running around breaking into houses with their scissors live about 5 minutes away.
It is weird watching the sheriff hauling them into jail though. They are like the extremist Amish sect. clop clop boom, clop clop boom, clop clop boom.
They use electric tools and cars whenever it can make them money. They have puppy mills, and their animals aren't tortured, but they aren't taken very good care of. I'm guess I'm not as enamored by their lifestyle as I was when I was a kid.
