So why are schools closing when as of 6/21/21 among the 74 million school age children (under 18) there were ONLY 209 deaths?

And masks do work. To protect others AND to protect yourself

That was your stupid claim retard.

Document it or admit you're a liar

Already proven.
Masks are well known to be far too course to filter viruses.
But this is simple physics.
If viruses are suspended in a water droplet, that is millions of time larger, so then can be caught.
But not after the water evaporates.
How long does it take for tiny water droplets to evaporate in cloth?

But wait!

RIgby says kids can't get covid.

Your grandson was lucky. You were lucky he didn't give it to you

No, I said kids have natural immunity.
So much so that they do not spread it significantly.
Since 300 kids out of 670,000 have died, it is not perfect immunity.
Obesity seems to increase susceptibility?

NO it has NOT "been proven" and you can't prove it now.

You are a liar.

ALL of your proclamations are either outright lies or irrelevant

Why do you claim masks work and then link to a post proving they do not?
The link says:
{...
"In sum, of the 14 RCTs that have tested the effectiveness of masks in preventing the transmission of respiratory viruses, three suggest, but do not provide any statistically significant evidence in intention-to-treat analysis, that masks might be useful. The other eleven suggest that masks are either useless—whether compared with no masks or because they appear not to add to good hand hygiene alone—or actually counterproductive. Of the three studies that provided statistically significant evidence in intention-to-treat analysis that was not contradicted within the same study, one found that the combination of surgical masks and hand hygiene was less effective than hand hygiene alone, one found that the combination of surgical masks and hand hygiene was less effective than nothing, and one found that cloth masks were less effective than surgical masks."
...}

But even what little effectiveness they do have is transitory.
Once the water droplets evaporate, there is no way the cloth can hold back viruses.
The cloth is about a million times too coarse.

Source Control to Block Exhaled Virus

Multi-layer cloth masks block release of exhaled respiratory particles into the environment,3-6 along with the microorganisms these particles carry.7,8 Cloth masks not only effectively block most large droplets (i.e., 20-30 microns and larger)9 but they can also block the exhalation of fine droplets and particles (also often referred to as aerosols) smaller than 10 microns ;3,5 which increase in number with the volume of speech10-12 and specific types of phonation.13 Multi-layer cloth masks can both block up to 50-70% of these fine droplets and particles3,14 and limit the forward spread of those that are not captured.5,6,15,16 Upwards of 80% blockage has been achieved in human experiments that have measured blocking of all respiratory droplets,4 with cloth masks in some studies performing on par with surgical masks as barriers for source control.3,9,14

One is too many.

439 is WAY too many...especially when something as simple as masks can prevent that
One is not too many, that is an absolutely absurd stance when crafting public policy and the idea needs to end. We base policy on risk and risk is NEVER 0. Period. Driving kids to school WILL, with absolute certainly, result in the deaths of children. We are not going to close down the schools and go to remote learning for that. Clearly there are acceptable risks.

The question is what are those acceptable risks.

For COVID in relation to children, the risk factors do not rise to the level of doing anything. We have accepted the risk factors to children in school when it comes to Pneumonia and the Flu BOTH of which present a higher risk to children individually than COVID does and has done so for years on end.

Now, you may back COVID measures in schools for other reasons but one thing is for certain, not one iota of these measures is for protecting children. They are all measures that come at the expense of children for some other goal.

Driving kids to school WILL, with absolute certainly, result in the deaths of children.
And we do what we can to minimize that risk

Which in the face of a pandemic that has killed hundreds of housands we should be doing now.

We DO need to get kids back to school...safely.

And masks are part of how we do it.

It's not roicket surgery

You keep repeating the lie huh?

Its obvious fact.
So far 3 links, including Fauci, said masks don't help.
Doesn't matter why.
But I explained the physics.
Is there any aspect of physics you would like to add that contends that mask could work after the saliva evaporates?
If you have some magic you can use to explain how masks could possibly work after the water has evaporated, we are all ears?

And how long before these much larger droplets evaporate?
5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes?
Pick a number.

Post a link to your claim. THIS claim.

"Time and time again it has been proven that masks only help for the first half hour, until the saliva droplets evaporate and release all the trapped viruses."

It's only one of many bullshit claims you have made with absolutely no proof

Except that masks worn all day long, can not possibly help and most certainly are going to just concentrate the virus in the air, increasing transmission, such as by the hands that will touch the masks.

Wrong.
Every site says it is only the larger drop of water that allow the masks to work at all, and they all say the droplets decrease over time.
{...
“Many people argue that cloth masks can’t be effective because they can’t filter out viral particles, which are extremely tiny,” she said. “Most of these particles leave the mouth and nose in much larger droplets that become smaller through evaporation as they move away from the body. Trapping droplets with the mask means not nearly as many viral particles escape.

Obvious lie.
Sure masks can temporarily stop "fine droplets" but for how long?
Water droplets so fine they can float in the air are not going to last more than 15 minutes on a cloth mask.

And the point was they are already safe. COVID represents virtually zero risk to children. That is just a fact. The risk of Pneumonia is far higher, something you do not even consider when sending your children to school because the risk level is so low.

So, no, whatever measure you are talking about is not to get kids back to school safely. This is not about the kids.
