Biden remarked in 2017 that the former president's criticism of "institutional structures that govern us" was "dangerous" during an event in Washington, D.C., The New York Daily News reported at the time. He then urged Trump to take a more "presidential" tone in the future.

"When you delegitimize the courts, you delegitimize the legislative body, it's corrosive and it makes it almost impossible to reach compromise," Biden said during the 2017 speech. "We're a diverse nation... this democracy, in order to function, you have to remember it requires consensus at the end of the day."

"Without consensus we have chaos and it's not just Joe Biden saying this, it's our Constitution," he continued. "We know the court when it rules has the right to overrule a Congress or a president."

President Joe Biden characterized the Supreme Court as "destabilizing" Thursday...

"The one thing that has been destabilizing is the outrageous behavior of the Supreme Court of the United States on overruling not only Roe v. Wade, but essentially challenging the right to privacy," the president said Thursday during a press conference in Spain.

Destabilizing does not, in any way, mean that you've been de-legitimized although it is in the ballpark. The ruling by the supreme court was reckless and moronic. Just one factoid...about 1,000 women die every year while giving birth. Not in Uganda; not in Parguay...in the US. Most of these are not at-risk pregnancies. Meaning that there were no serious warning signs going into the delivery room (which is one of the reasons for the high death rate--caregivers are usually not prepared for complex complications). The number of women dying during childbirth will only rise now (likely double) since, now, a lot of states are not going to allow a woman to decide what to do with her body.

Then the people who live in those states can change it. That's self governing.

That's only 1/10th the number xiden is killing annually by allowing illegal drugs to flood the border.

.

That's an easy one. Anyone's political position can change over time, and in this case, a few very obvious events happened between when Biden said the first quote in 2017, and today: Trump appointed one Justice in a seat that had been stalled for a year, then another, then fast-tracked a third after voting had already started. Then, in contrast to what they each promised during their confirmations, they canned Roe v. Wade. It's not outrageous to think that many people consider that to be a change from "legitimized" to "destabilized."

I mean, from a right-wing perspective, what would you think if Biden had delayed RBG's seat to put in Merrick Garland, then seated Justice Jackson, then squeezed in one more in October of 2024, then during a GOP President's term in 2025, they overruled Heller v. DC? I would imagine that "delegitimized" would the tamest of the language you would use if that were the case.

Well, maybe when presidents left and right are being criticized, you should look at what the REAL PROBLEM IS.

Which is the way "representatives" are elected.

The FPTP system is so outdated, so easy to manipulate and is sending the US right downhill. And all these Americans are cheering the whole way down.

The hidden message in this comment is clear: don't get pregnant, don't have sex with a man because it's fraught with the possibility of a new human being, and don't have a baby.

Pregnancy and childbirth will be the prerogative of a select caste.

It's a shame my grandmother did NOT read that scary statistic and gave birth to 12 healthy children. In the field. Without a midwife or the maternity ward at the hospital...

Then the people who live in those states can change it. That's self governing.
Theoretically, yes. But certain ethnic groups (let us conventionally call them "autochthons") must take care that they are not outnumbered by representatives of other groups, thereby upsetting the traditional balance. And in America today that balance is broken. And this is very dangerous because it can lead to the degradation of society, including the IQ.

The most recent U.S. maternal mortality ratio, or rate, of 17.4 per 100,000 pregnancies represented approximately 660 maternal deaths in 2018.

Like many developing countries, Uganda has high maternal mortality ratio at 343 per 100,000 live births.

  • Paraguay maternal mortality rate for 2017 was 129.00

Let me know if your innumerate dumb ass gets any more stupid ideas, okay?

How did you come to this fantastic illogical leap?

Hypocrisy from Biden? Nawww, couldn't be...
Of course, the president CAN NOT be a hypocrite. It's an axiom.

Well, yes, the President is the SYMBOL of the nation, the one the rest of us look up to and try to be like.

But if Biden is a hypocrite and a liar after all, then : "Mayday, mayday, Houston - we have a problem!"

I guess that people are either afraid to look down there, or they absolutely apolitical and are not patriots of their country...

This is the other side of the coin...

What a pile of dung.

The message is, "USE BIRTH CONTROL!"

The vast majority of abortions are due to no birth control being used, or the improper/inconsistent use of birth control.

Most people seem to think patriotism is what the country can give them.

It's like their love for their woman, they beat her, belittle her, but then tell her that they love her, even though their actions suggest the exact opposite.

Well, philosophers are still wondering if the use of birth control is not a CRIME against the POSSIBILITY OF LIFE
