Pull out of Iraq? I'd say most definitely and within a year.
Pull out of Afgan.? Maybe. Troop withdrawals. Depletion of funding.
Tax increases? They will try it Bush will veto.
Gay marriage? Ditto
Socialized medicene? Where's Hillary?
The economy? Hard to kill the recent boom but the Dems will give it a shot.

In my economic neck of the woods, oil and gas exploration, I look for greater regulation and a walloping of new taxes to "make it fair" because oil and gas is making money for a change. Here come the Dems. Better put some extra money aside for those quarterlies come next year... Whooooppppieeee!

Doubt it, that's where the terrorist live and that's where most dems agree we should be focusing on.

As long as the dems hold in 08, this problem will be solved w/ an open-minded president

Socialized medicene? Where's Hillary?
Health care for the poor? That's crazy!

What boom?

If they win, we'll have another 9-11 type attack. Easily. Our taxes will skyrocket, and the economy will enter another recession. Some minority groups will benefit from special rights. Christians will be more persecuted than ever. Schools across the country will continue their practice of lowering the standard when the standard is too high.

a lot like that anal sex thread but you will be catching not pitching.............

i'll get me coat.........:fifty:

* With a republican president and a democratic congress, I am hoping to see sweet, blessed gridlock. But Bush is a LBJ-style socialist who avoids the veto pen like Dracula avoids the cross, so maybe not.

* 2008: If a democrat wins the presidency, the democrats will suddenly think that all the newfound presidential powers are a-okay. The republicans will likewise revert to their Clinton-era rhetoric of speaking out against big omnipotent government. Any new military interventions abroad will now be accompanied by a thin veneer of multilateralism, with a smattering of NATO or UN troops, and will have a slightly more humanitarian bent. Most liberals will be suckered in by this rubbish and be behind a democrat's wars 100%.

* The housing crash will be in full swing, with a nasty recession to accompany it. The demise of the US dollar will be a topic of great debate, as though there were some huge mystery as to the cause. As stagflation takes hold, expect lots and lots of scapegoating, with almost no peep about the real culprit. Tax cuts, capitalism in general, foreign central banks, and greedy price-hiking business owners will be blamed by democrats in congress. Protectionist sentiment for anti-China tariffs may find bipartisan support, along with price controls (leading to widespread shortages). Commodities, gold, silver, oil, uranium, etc. will be the next bubble after housing dies.

* Forces in Iraq will be drawn down substantially, and no more patrolling in Iraqi cities. US troops will occupy bases way out from cities, and any approaching vehicle not identified as american will be destroyed. US casualties will nearly disappear, and we will claim victory. Troops will be stationed in Iraq for decades to come. Iraq will be one nation in name only, with city-states or regions held together by whichever local strongman happens to be strongest.

I personally think the left is farther left than I've ever seen before. And when the presidential campaigns get under way, the mud slinging will be at a fever pitch. The dems will be exposed as the fucking nut cases they are, but they'll be supported by their nut case, lock step, lunatic left, uneducated, liberal sheep who will vote for them without really knowing what they're voting for. Then we'll have the educated, informed, salt of the earth, middle America conservatives that will vote Republican. All we can hope for is that there's more of the later than the prior.

If the dems get the House, they'll be calling for all sorts of investigations on the administration. They will be calling for the repeal of tax cuts. If they should gain the Senate, they'll get those through. Likewise a cut in military expenditures. The WOT will be ended here. Until we are git again.

"If"... the dems get lucky and take control of ANYTHING, it will be because of the incessant HAMMERING they have done to Bush for the past six years, AND the incessant HAMMERING they've done on the war in Iraq. Iraq will actually be the topic that tips the scales. The uneducated left liberal sissies don't quite understand yet. We either fight the terrorists over there, or have another catastrophic assault on us here. Maybe we need another one, to show people that if we let our gaurd down for one second, the terrorists will exploit it.

Wrong. We will be safer when our government makes decisions that recognize the future will have to include both Islam and the U.S. When we reach that point, progress toward peace and security can be made.

Our taxes will skyrocket, and the economy will enter another recession.

A recession is pretty much out of the control of our lawmakers...regardless of their party, a lot of it has to do with the cyclical nature of our economy. Some economists will contend that a trickle up economy will help the U.S., others will stand by conservative economics. One thing is for sure, Republicans have buried us in an enormous trade deficit. In doing so, they have hurt the same heartland Americans they pretend to stand for.

Some minority groups will benefit from special rights.

Rightfully so.

Christians will be more persecuted than ever.

Bullshit.

Schools across the country will continue their practice of lowering the standard when the standard is too high.

One thing to remember: Both Democrats and Republicans created NCLB.

Important thing to note: NCLB is also a prejudice piece of shit, that harms both struggling students and many public school systems. Is it just me, or should we be working to help struggling students?

You could be correct, but I'm not convinced. Having been one that has hammered in all sorts of ways the administration, IF the lose on the 7th, I'd assume it was because of their failure to address domestic issues, like the fence and those officers arrested.

Internationally I say their fairlue was in their lack of explaining. The people wanted to support, but really weren't given the chance.

When we get past that point: Rome. Which is why I say a second civil war is called for.

dmp: I do agree with 1549 about the persecution thing. To me it seems that many Christians want to be persecuted for whatever reason. I say many, but that "many" isn't in the majority. But that's my opinion and I'm sure you'll counter with something.

Dems will probably stay in Afghanistan and gay marriage will maybe be implemented unless the Dems try to appeal to the religious the way Bush did in '04, if that happens, then don't expect it to happen right off.

Iraq: We'll probably withdraw.

As Kathy's said, there'll be an investigation on the current administration. But y'know, if there's nothing damning going on, then Bush and company should have nothing to worry about.

Recession: Maybe. As has been said, our economy follows a cycle. I think our economy might get better too.

glock: I think a second civil war is inevitable in America regardless of whether Republicans or Democrats win this election and the '08 presidential election.

In regards to the namecalling in regards to the level of education in both parties: There's smart people on both sides and they do occupy the majority for both sides, however, a lack of common sense on either side does not insinuate education.

9/11 Sequel: I think that too will happen regardless of who wins in the House this year or whoever wins in '08.

You make an excellent point. I am particularly glad that the rep comment you left me said "you are too full of crap", because I am not really sure if the banana holding a 'poop' sign really got your argument about terrorism across. Thank god for "educated, informed, salt of the earth" conservatives, political discussions would be sorely lacking without them.

You're welcome. And I'm glad you were able to decipher my sentiments without much of a problem. I made them simple just for you.

And you're welcome for my comment when I dinged you, because "full of crap" is exactly what you are if think we'll be safer with liberal apologists taking care of our countries protection. That's just a fucking major laugh. Tell me... will they do this with another round of base closings and defense budget cuts like in the clinton years?

Wrong. We will be safer when our government makes decisions that recognize the future will have to include both Islam and the U.S. When we reach that point, progress toward peace and security can be made.

Wrong. Clinton tried that dumb idea, remember? 9/11 was the result. Care to guess again?

BS. A recession is the usual result of people paying too much tax; therefore, spending less. This usually occurs when the Dems jack said taxes. Pretty simple math.

Rightfully so.

No minority deserves special rights at the expense of the majority. That is just bleeding heart liberal bullshit to think it's "right."

Bullshit.

The #1 liberal response to being accused of what they're doing: pretending it doesnt exist.

Yet another handout, huh? Get a job.
