umm, they'll probably stop seeing medicare patients in favor of ones who pay more.

you're not too bright, are you?

At my work medicare/state patients pay 70% of what private pay pays, and they are probably paying what it actually costs to live there. And it is probably the same with the doctors. IN this country we have a problem with doctors charging inflated prices. Like Japan we need to come up with a universal price for certain procedures and treatments.

Gee, Del...ya' think? People like Moon somehow think that doctors are going to happily take a 30% pay cut as if nothing happened and keep right on seeing Medicare patients. They aren't. They're already responding to the looming cuts by refusing to take new Medicare patients. So if you ARE on Medicare? Finding a doctor who will actually treat you is going to become a bigger nightmare than the illness itself.

You'll see a large influx of seniors in the emergency rooms.

Anyone in healthcare will tell you that this has been coming for a long time. 11 years ago, when we were transporting patients who could walk better than I could, (in ambulances) I remember thinking that there was no way that this could go on forever. These were physician-ordered transports. And sometimes it was for no other reason, than to clear the bed.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the transports from waiting rooms to patient's homes.

they'll probably waive the cut like they have for the past twentysomething years, otherwise the AMA wouldn't have got on board with the plan.

hope and change
