So a wind strong enough to push a 200,000 ton tank a sideways wasn't strong enough to destroy all the surrounding structures? B*******

Any inference that a wind strong enough to push a 200,000 ton tanker sideways was the cause of the Suez catastrophe is pretty much mentally vacant.

Some quick calculations on the amount of force required easily demonstrate that such a wind would be in excess of 200 miles an hour for a sustained period of time. This would be the equivalent of the category 5 hurricane sitting on top of the Suez canal for several hours.

When that captain gets to a port I am sure the owner will be having a conversation with him. The lawsuits are lining up right now.

You are an idiot. The wind force against the entire 1,320'ft ship only needed to exceed the rudder's force.

False Flag? It wouldn't be a surprise, but, to what end?

I doubt it.. The tanker was too big. Remember when the Suez was damaged and closed for 8 years after the 6 day war? The oil companies invested in supertankers that would go around the Cape. The Suez was finally reopened and later increased in size.. Its still very important in shipping, but isn't designed for large tankers.

And thats not hard to do with a slow moving ship.
The rudder doesnt work well unless the ship has enough speed to force water over the rudder surface.

Has anyone mentioned the possibility that the Iranians were involved in an attempt to illustrate the power they hold on shutting the canal down permanently?

One large tanker broken in half at the right location would conceivably do that for at least months and two would likely clinch it for a year/years.

It's not to be suggested as the complete hand of cards the Iranians have, with which they play.

If the Zionist apartheid regime is going to persist with their covert attacks against Iran, it can be expected that Iran is going to be playing some of their aces too.

Just my attempt to turn a ridiculous notion of wind not having any effect on a huge barn door into something worth discussing.
(and fwiw, the billies shouldn't be too hard pressed to find themselves a barn door near by)

Calculations? Can we see your work? In math class you don't get credit for just putting down an answer.
