Frank Sinatra's songs are part of American music culture before the Beatles and hair bands. His music style endures in movies like "Space Cowboys". Old Blue Eyes was a pretty good actor too. The pop stuff in Vegas with the Rat Pack was entertaining but my favorite was "Some Came Running- 58 with Shirley McLain" and "The Manchurian Candidate -62"

I don't care who you are, The Original 'Ocean's Eleven' was a very entertaining movie... Who wouldn't want to make a movie and have that much fun doing it...

Legend has it that the Rat Pack partied all night and still made it to the movie set the next day. It must have been quite a treat for the casino fans.

..that's when singers actually did some singing---and not spitting/yelling/etc .....and they dressed appropriately
..or turned around and bent over to have the audience HONOR their ass!!!!
HEY, everyone, look at my ass !!! = IDIOTS

Vintage Vegas was a whole different world. Now it's a combination of Disney and your basic sleazy porno show. The psychology changed but the odds are still with the house.

Sinatra had a natural confidence and charisma being on camera. He was an excellent actor and great singer. As a person, he was not a nice guy. He was always in character, and that character was Sinatra, a guy that got what he wanted with intimidation and threats of violence. He was not a big guy but certainly acted the part. People that weren't in his his circle of friends were scared to mess with him. He was connected with various gangsters, that in fact contributed a lot to his career. He was not a stranger to crime. He dressed like a gangster, talked like a gangster, behaved like a gangster, grew up around gangsters and fraternized with gangsters.

It's even alleged that Sinatra was involved in the MM death coverup. He was the type of guy who liked the friendship and power of organized crime hoods as well as the Kennedy clan. Everybody said his movie career was washed up until he won the role of Maggio in From here to Eternity.

Like a lot actors their on screen persona is lot different than their real life persona. One of the things that makes him a great actor is his versatility on screen from a song and dance man to a presidential assassin, a drug addict, a cowboy, a war hero, a robber etc..

He was an obnoxious scrawny little punk, but he could sing some pretty good jazz tunes when he tried. As a pop singer Deano was better, and so were a lot of others. His 'unpopular' jazz stuff was much better than his pop stuff. But, pop pays the bills and buys the big houses and luxury cars and the best looking Hollywood whores.

If your taste in music runs to the likes of sissies like Jackson and Prince you wouldn't appreciate Sinatra no matter what he did.

I believe he was abrasive. I also believe he was open minded. He pushed things like civil rights and actually helped men like Sammy Davis. Even if he was a bit crude with him. Dean Martin seemed different in relating to people in ways. In his own life he saw the heights and the lows as an entertainer. Even so. The Rat Pack must have been cool to be with.

Watched an old 1967 "Tony Rome" starring Sinatra and vintage Jill St. John it was better than most of the modern digital enhanced cop junk movies around today.

Sinatra was "The Boss" of the Rat Pack, but he was also "The Chairman" of his......ummmm......"dealings" with the mob. Never the less, Sinatra was great, but Dean Martin was my guy growing up, I LOVED him!!!

Yeah, I always preferred Dean Martin, too. Always with the devilish look in his eyes.

But I still like Sinatra's music more.
