Should US Teachers get paid based upon student performance?

It's a system that works in every other field of human activity, why not reward teacher success?

Maybe they should live by what they teach, socialism is big in the classroom today, so maybe teachers should practice what they preach and take no salary. They can perform their duties for the common good just like they want doctors to do.

I could see bonuses or something for that. But some people are completely helpless. Thats just the way it is.

Good teachers should be paid as the professionals they are, not as fast-food managers.

If they are teaching Republican children, they will only ever get minimum wage.

NO. Too many kids have the same loser values as their moonbat parents do.

T and Devos are ruining public education. I believe teachers should get paid and no bonuses either, they are paid to do a job. Boring teachers should be outed.

You said that know that 4 out of 5 of the kids who manage to "Graduate" NYC High schools can neither read nor write at grade level?

Did you know that 40% of minority students drop out of NYC High School system, and who can blame them?

Teachers should get paid as professionals. They many years of education, they have licenses they must maintain, and they are in all ways professionals. Pay based on studet performance has many problems. 1st, does the teacher have the sole responsibility of teaching the student? 2nd, what part does the student play? 3rd, do cultural or social issues play a part in the students education or lack there-of. Teachers work hard to do a nearly impossible job and they deserve the pay and respect they earn.

IT has been established beyond question that the primary driver of academic outcome is parent involvement.

Blaming the teacher for the homelife of the kids is not reasonable.

??????????????

Where did you get those ideas?

Who decides what is tested and designs the tests?

Why is 4 years of Literature in high school more important than 1 year of accounting? How many kids got accounting in high school? I don't even know if my high school had it back then.

But they are supposed to get jobs to make money and then decide whether to rent or buy a house, or and apartment building. I bought an apartment building.

It would be easy enough to develop a bonus plan that benchmarks educational success against expected progress, based on comparable groups within the school district or even state. this sort of thing is fairly routine in the real world. But teachers unions would render any such program farcical, with all the bonus money going to the teachers with the most seniority.
