Congress needs to mind its own fucking business. Hey Pat Leahy, how about passing a fucking budget?

WASHINGTON – Chief Justice John Roberts has told Congress again that the Supreme Court doesn't plan to formally adopt rules that would bind it to the same code of conduct as other federal judges.

See:

Chief Justice Roberts says Supreme Court will not adopt formal ethics rules | Fox News

The scumbags already have a code of ethics - is called the US Constitution Article III

.

And there's isn't much in the constitution regarding Judicial Ethics..like recusals for conflict of interest.

There's nothing that covers murder either.

Sometimes ya gotta wing it.

Judical code of ethics should not be rules, they should be laws and that's up to congress. As long a congress doesn't get into court procedures there are no seperation of powers issues, just as congress can set laws for ethical conduct of the executive branch.

Hmmm.

I can't see why they wouldn't adopt the ethics rules.

Who would enforce it, Congress? That would violate the separation of powers. In the end, they would have to enforce it themselves, which means it wouldn't be enforced.

Actually judges only hold their office durning good behavior, they can be impeached by congress just like the president. Congress can establish an ethics law that applies to ALL federal employees including judges.

Code of Conduct for United States Judges
Federal judges abide by the Code of Conduct for United States Judges, a set of ethical principles and guidelines adopted by the Judicial Conference of the United States. The Code of Conduct provides guidance for judges on issues of judicial integrity and independence, judicial diligence and impartiality, permissible extra-judicial activities, and the avoidance of impropriety or even its appearance.

Why would Chief Justice Roberts oppose such a code?
