Instead of watching the debate i signed up for a SNG, 5 people left 4 get paid, blinds 5k 10k no ante I'm BB with about 40k sb is chip leader folded to her she shoves had a good read on her and thought she had a hand. I look down at AJs and was going to fold... but i let the math override my instinct and her KK holds.

Oh this was my first time playing in a casino with real people. I've played exclusively online. I think I have a good read on people and was nervous about the whole experience but was really satisfied that my instincts were correct.

For example, first level, early position villain limps and it felt weird to me, like he was being clever, hoping for action behind because he had a maniac on his left, maniac limps, me BB with 24. Flop 234 rainbow I bet 400, he seems actually angry and makes it 2K to go, maniac folds, (starting stack 15K). For about a millisecond I though he might have limped with 56 but every cell in my body said he had a big pocket pair so I repop him to 5K, he shoves.

I take a deep breath and ask myself "Are you absolutely fucking certain you have a good read on a person you only met 10 minutes ago because busting out this level would suck something awful."

I call and turn over top and bottom pair he has JJ.

Did he go into a rage over it?

Oh, he was mighty ticked off when he left, but he had no business shoving since he's behind to A5, 56, 23, 24, 34 all of which are BB Specials and would explain my bets

Which goes to show you always raise pre-flop with hooks.
