IMHO, it's not just Kerry but the entire Obama administration! Seriously? They think 300 “advisors” are going to change centuries of hatred and fighting? We've already seen to what extremes Muslim sects/cults will go to in order to uphold and enforce their beliefs. American leaders naively sought “democracies” in the Middle East – an anathema to the very core of Islam.

I agree completely with the above. Bush was an idiot to try this. Just like Vietnam, we shouldn't invade a country where the people themselves don't want us.

If there's one thing Kerry isn't, it is naive.
I can't vouch for the accuracy of the following, but the integrity of its author could not be worse than that of John Forbes Kerry.

"The green light for the use of ISIS brigades to carve up Iraq, widen the Syria conflict into a greater Middle East war and to throw Iran off-balance was given behind closed doors at the Atlantic Council meeting in Turkey, in November 2013, told a source close to Saudi – Lebanese billionaire Saad Hariri, adding that the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is the operation’s headquarter.

"A 'trusted source' close to the Saudi – Lebanese multi-billionaire and former Lebanese P.M. Saad Hariri told on condition of anonymity, that the final green light for the war on Iraq with ISIS or ISIL brigades was given behind closed doors, at the sidelines of the Atlantic Council’s Energy Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, on November 22 – 23, 2013."

Obviously, the internet give us all access to information never before available to billions of global citizens. How to assess the information remains a problem, at least.

Suffice it to say, if ISIS is being run out of the US embassy in Turkey, it would give all points on the political spectrum a very wide swath of common ground.
