The far-reaching legislation includes $1,400 stimulus checks, $300-per-week jobless benefits through summer, a child allowance of up to $3,600 for one year, $350 billion for state aid, $34 billion to expand Affordable Care Act subsidies and $14 billion for vaccine distribution.

The final vote was 50-49 along party lines, with every Republican voting "no." It came after Democrats voted down a swath of Republican amendments on repeated votes of 50-49 to avoid disrupting the delicate agreement between progressive and moderate senators.

Republicans have 50 votes. Who abstained?

oh joy more debt for our children to pay off,,,
At this point, our great x 4 grandchildren will be paying this shit off.
And what makes that worse is that a bunch of spoiled government employees are getting money for nothing while restaurant owners and their employees are getting peanuts.

Did you read the rest of the bill?
Or just the "Dr Seuss" version?

Is it accurate to say taxpayers are getting 1400 of the 14,000 each we are charged
for spending in this bill that isn't all related to Covid.

I already heard some of the money allocated to bailout govt spending won't be used until 2021-2022.

What extra PORK was in this bill that got rejected by the "same Republicans" that supported the full $2000 amount (where the 1400 represents the balance from last time).

The only difference is that Rush Limbaugh isn't around to say "I hope Biden fails"
Or to call college girls "whores" because they want birth control in their health plan.
^ the problem is not separating taxes so people who believe in funding people's personal health choices can do so WITHOUT imposing on people who believe it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to regulate health choices through federal govt.

THAT is what causes the conflict.

It does not justify the namecalling which is still an ad hominem attack, as well as offensive and sexist.

But the Left fails to address and acknowledge the unlawful Discrimination by Creed by continuing to push Statist beliefs through Govt that violate equal rights to exercise and defend Constitutional Beliefs.

Constitutional beliefs allow the free exercise of right to health care by individuals and states. But not vice versa. The unlawful establishment and imposition of Statist beliefs in health care through federal mandates VIOLATE Constitutional beliefs in limits and process that require Constitutional Convention and Amendment to approve such legislation expanding federal duties in order to represent taxpayers consent and protect due process before depriving individuals of liberty and free choice.

You pose the fundamental question. Should insurance coverage and costs be individual specific. That people get charged "a-la-carte" for their healthcare insurance.

If you think health insurance is an administrative nightmare now,

So when given a chance to vote no every Democrat decided on add Ed debt. The Republicans weren’t even given a chance to add to the bill, yet you expect bipartisanship, why is that?

Republicans were given a choice to add to the bill
They chose to have the 600 pages read aloud

Many of the same Republicans who previously supported a $2000 stimulus

Dejavu Obama all over again
So, the Dems won’t let Republicans have any say in the bill, all Republicans voted it down, you are right just like under Obama, Democrats don’t want Republican input and thus they get no Republican votes. It seems the Dems want all the credit for the added 2 trillion in debt. Just let the grandkids be responsible for our stupidity.

According to the ops article, Dems wouldn’t consider GOP input and the GOP tried to give some input. Gee, you don’t want any input by the GOP but you expect them to vote yes? Why would a Republican vote yes?

Yup.

And one complaint, from many economists, was that the stimulus under Obama was too small, and led to a slower recovery.

Would you vote yes for a bill after the other side wouldn’t give you a shot of putting anything in it? This is a Democrats show and let them take the credit for the relief and take credit for putting our country further in debt.

A Repub I believe by the last name of Sullivan had to return to Alaska because his father-in-law died.
He must be as pussy-whipped as you are!
Feel the lashes.....:whipg:....

The thread title is inaccurate. Here is the correct one:

The Senate votes to enslave future generations with $1.9T more debt (excluding interest!) in order to bail out Blue Woketopian insolvent state and municipal governments, reward Teachers Unions for holding students hostage, and funnel more pork to Big Government Cronies...with a few hundred dollar crumbs for those whose jobs were destroyed by the Government Manufactured Crisis Shutdown.
