Who would have ever seen this coming?!

You get who you vote for, and Seattle voters are among the dumbest in the country, so they can choke on it.

Seattle mayor calls for more police after city suffers six shootings in one weekend and loss of 250 officers in last 17 months

  • Mayor Jenny Durkan says the city needs to replenish its ranks within the police department after four people are killed in a spate of shootings around Washington state's largest city
  • Durkan, a Democrat, says city is 'on path' to losing 300 officers
  • More than 20% of the officers quit after the city council slashed the budget
  • Officers cited 'lack of support' as a reason for leaving the police force
  • Police department saw a 17% reduction of funds in 2021
  • Seattle was site of an autonomous zone within the city in 2020 and was eventually dismantled

The Democratic mayor of Seattle is calling for the police force to replenish its shrinking numbers in the wake of six separate shootings that rocked the city over the weekend and into Monday.

The shootings, five of which took place within blocks of each other, left four people dead and seven injured.

The shootings took place in the Belltown, Pioneer Square, Chinatown International District and Capitol Hill neighborhoods. Another shooting took place in Lake City.

More like summer fall and winter of rank permissiveness. Summer of love was a hipping thing, back in 67 during the anti-vietnam war and free love movement in the Haight-Ashberry district. I don't remember it being particularly violent. There were community health issues, sparking the rise of the "free clinics" to combat social disease. Maybe memory fades with time.

Yet, in the next Seattle Mayoral election, the choice will probably end up being between her and somebody even MORE radical like it did recently in Portland.

Yep, almost guaranteed.
However, it's encouraging to see what's happened in New York.

All of the Democrat Defundiots are frantically reversing course and pouring millions into the police forces they have decimated. Is it any wonder our major cities have drug/gang fueled war zones raging in the streets?

The City of Seattle is going to have to raise the pay considerably, as well as invite and perhaps subsidize Krispy Kreme to open new locations in the town for the police to hang out in.

You get the gov't you vote for, and you deserve what you get. If those stupid bastards in Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and elsewhere continue to vote for the democrats then they'll get exactly what they deserve. A lawless shit-hole.

Qualified people won't waste their time applying. Those arrested will still be freed by the district attorney and the courts. The officer will still be punished for every interaction.

And then of course, there's the whole who would want to be a cop today problem. The Dimocrat party owns that one 100%.

The left's defund the Police blew up in their faces....like everything else those idiots attempt

Well, they chased away all the experienced police officers.

Now it is time to hire some liberal arts majors so they can pay back their student loans.

It will be interesting to see who the citizens of Seattle choose, now that they've had a real taste of liberal policies regarding their police dept.
Will they vote to continue the same crap with another extremist nut?
