Scientists spot warning signs of Gulf Stream collapse A shutdown would have devastating global impacts

Watch, "Beach, a River of Sand", on youtube. Dam building is why beaches have to be replenished. It's a problem LONG known about.

That movie was done in the 1960's.

Long before the climatologists started trying to rewrite science.

Yep.
They have to replenish the beach in front of the seawall in Galveston every once and awhile.
When they built the seawall back in 1902 that did stop Galveston from flooding but it also stopped sand from building on the beaches during storms.
They then added jetties along the beachfront to stop the currents from stripping away sand.

Try watching the movie. It will EDUCATE you. Unlike the bullshit you push, the movie is REAL science.

Yeah? So? You seem to think that this is somehow weird. Try reading this stuff called HISTORY you ridiculous idiot. I suggest you start with Thucydides. A very good historian. His history of the Peloponnesian war is the go to for that particular bit of silliness. Over in California you know how common wildfires are? They are so common that the chaparral and closed cone conifers REQUIRE wildfires to germinate their seeds.

The level of your astonishing ignorance is amazing.

"After a forest fire, the understory is barren, full of freshly available nutrients and ideal for seed germination. Closed-cone pines have evolved to use the heat from a forest fire as a trigger to opening their cones. The extreme heat melts the resinous sap, allowing the cone to open and exposing the seeds to the outside world. The seeds then quickly dry and detach from inside the cone scales and are dispersed by wind, gravity, and wildlife. In contrast, “open cone” conifers rely on ambient moisture inside the cone to hold the seeds in place until weather cues signal that conditions are right for dispersal."

They aren't common in Greece and I have been there many times.

Happening Now: Dead Zone in the Gulf 2020 | Ocean Today
The 2020 Gulf of Mexico Hypoxic Zone, or Dead Zone, an area of low oxygen that can kill fish and marine life near the bottom of the sea, measures 2,116 square miles. This is the 3rd smallest dead zone in the Gulf since mapping of the zone began in 1985. It begins innocently enough.

Half the population of the earth would be affected.

Climate crisis: Scientists spot warning signs of Gulf Stream collapse
A shutdown would have devastating global impacts and must not be allowed to happen, researchers say

Scientists fear a critical Atlantic Ocean system might collapse, triggering 'extreme cold' and sea level rise

Scientists are worried the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), a "critical aquatic conveyer belt" that drives currents in the Atlantic Ocean, is at risk of near-complete collapse due to climate change, The Washington Post reports.

A shutdown of the crucial circulation system could "bring extreme cold to Europe and parts of North America, raise sea levels along the U.S. East Coast, and disrupt seasonal monsoons that provide water to much of the world," the Post reports. The effects, in short, would be devastating.

Scientists previously believed the AMOC would in fact weaken this century, but didn't imagine total collapse within the next 300 years except in absolute worst-case warming scenarios. Now, according to a new study, that critical threshold "is most likely much closer than we would have expected," said Niklas Boers, the study's author and a researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Any exact date, however, is still unknown.
i think if we were all to wear mask it would fix it

Ummm, yeah, they are. Greece is very close to California in climate and drought frequency. I go to Crete almost every year so know the region quite well.

Based on what? Name the prediction that’s come true

The graveyard of ships. About 80 years ago the Gulf Stream off the eastern coast of the U.S. was the most dangerous body of water on earth. Hundreds of tons of fuel oil and munitions and stuff we consider to be hazardous materials went to the bottom in burning wrecks almost on a daily basis during WW2. VE day and VJ day came around and the Gulf stream barely burped. Along came a failed politician with zero scientific experience in the 90's who created something he called "carbon credits" to make a buck. Now the radical junk scientists try to tell us that the Gulf Stream is in trouble. Give me a freaking break.

Get some freaking historic perspective about the Gulf Stream. An estimated 1554 ships loaded with cargo were sunk in the Atlantic in WW2. About 46 cargo ships were sunk in the Gulf, about 150 in the Carib. and 175 off the Atlantic coast in North Carolina and Virginia and Maryland and New Jersey. If the freaking Gulf Stream survived it 70 years ago why blame American decadence that never sunk a freaking ship?

Make up your fucking minds already. Is it c02? Is it the gulf stream? Is the planet heating up or cooling down?

Or is it just possible shit is happening because that's what our planet does all on its own? To think earth maintains this perfect ecological state and we "fucked it up" is pure ignorance of the truth. This has all happened countless times before man ever came along.

Worldwide flood, world wide fires, world wide droughts, the ice age, extinction level volcanic activity, seismic activity large enough to break apart land masses, depletion of the ozone, life ending c02 levels, world wide storms, a total reversal of the poles and a whole lot more happened for billions of years before man.

When the fuck are people going to recognize this shit has been happening for billions of years. We have undeniable scientific proof from allover the world it has.

What world wide fire or flood is that?
