Whatever else might be said about it, US District Judge Mark Wolf's decision in Parker v. Hurley is a model of clear English prose.

"The constitutional right of parents to raise their children does not include the right to restrict what a public school may teach their children," Wolf unambiguously wrote in dismissing a suit by two Lexington couples who objected to lessons the local elementary school was teaching their children. "Under the Constitution public schools are entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy."

Most American major dailies are conservative. You just have a different interpretation of the word.
To me, conservative is espousing a traditional viewpoint. Republican define conservative as kowtowing to every viewpoint expressed by the Bush administration. Anyone who dares to question the Bushies is immediately classified as liberal.

I think schools should be a local thing. Communities are all different.
It should go no higher than the State, as far as standards and such are concerned

I think we need to eliminate public and state sponsorship of education as much as possible. Perhaps if parents had to sit down and write a check to educate their brats they'd all of a sudden give a shit as to the quality of that education. Plus the fact that today our schools seem more concerned with social engineering than with actual education while most parents seem to look at schools as a glorified babysitting service. The quality of education in this country is nothing to shout about either but that's par for the course with anything government does.

and creation is perfectly legal to teach,,,its just that if a teacher tries to teach it they are attacked and fired for it,,,

and yes creation can be science and in some cases more so than evolution,,,
