Sadly I believe this is true, but I think the majority of us are more concerned about being right (consuming news that vindicates our beliefs) over finding the truth.
For example, how does “Democracy Dies in Darkness” Washington Post expect those of us who don’t believe democracy died in darkness the day Trump was elected to believe any article they publish about the president isn’t influenced by less than lukewarm feelings about him?
