As the title says, SAS, the Scandinavian airlines, jointly founded and owned by the Scandinavian governments made an ad video that claims that nothing is Scandinavian and everything comes from other countries and cultures.

It got massive backlash in the commentaries and angry e-mails and dissapeared after one day from Youtube.

What do you personally think about this ad? Do you think this was a clever ad strategy for the airline company? Should a partly government-owned company talk like this about it's native culture and population? Should any company?

Here it is reuploaded by someone else:

Hmmm...I think they were a tad off in assessing themselves, the claim is "nothing is scandinavian" which isn't true if we are just relying on the claims in the video, the correct conclusion to draw from the video is that nothing is "invented" in Scandinavia ...i.e. e.g. in the ad Germans are responsible for their mode of everyday transportation, bicycles, which may be true but if the bike is made in Sweden then it is Swedish...
They go on to say how it is travel that makes everything they have possible but leave out that, by the standards everything else is judged in the ad, SAS is not really Scandinavian because passenger jets [planes in general] were first invented elsewhere which of course is a nonsensical conclusion..
and for those who like to believe socialism works in Scandinavian countries, it is not working if you have to travel by bicycle, so please do not endow this great country with that kind of success

It is very sad that SAS succumbed (at least temporarily) to those forces that want to denigrate Scandinavian culture in order to make other cultures feel better.

If everyone in the world had his/her druthers, s/he would prefer to live in a country with Scandinavian values than with the values of his/her current country.

From the news, Sweden's social peace and harmony is no more. I hope with all my heart that Finland and Norway see what has happened in Sweden and take measures not to go down the same tragic path.
