Wellllllll......

Maybe not.

Nice new computer? Of course a virgin hard drive, right out of the factory so absolutely safe to use. No viruses; no malware.

Or maybe you've just bought a brand new virgin hard drive to replace one that's gone bad or seems irredeemably infected with whatever.

So you're safe!

Really?

NSA reportedly hiding spyware in computer hard drives - News - Trusted Reviews

"The United States’ National Security Agency (NSA) has discovered a way to hide surveillance software deep inside the firmware of computer hard-drives, according to alarming new reports on Monday."

"Based on revelations from the security experts as Kaspersky Labs, Reuters sources claim the NSA is placing spyware within drives from the likes of Western Digital, Seagate and Toshiba."

"The worms enable the NSA to steel files or eavesdrop on infected machines as soon as they're connected to the internet, according to the report."

Surely not possible! The most open and transparent regime in World History would never spy on its subjects......would it?

Of course, Israel is not a subject of observation!
