A documentary from a personal perspective of what it like to have Russia annex a portion of your country.

Since the turn of the millennium, Georgia has been drawing closer to both NATO and EU. Moscow does not like this, and wants to hinder Georgia’s growing affiliation with the West. Many Georgians fear their homeland is being gradually annexed by their far larger neighbor. The world has understandably focused on the war in Ukraine, which initially began after the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Meanwhile, Georgia has been subject to a different kind of Russian aggression: creeping occupation. A brief war with Russia in 2008 saw the regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia break away definitively from Georgia. Since then, Moscow has effectively controlled the areas. "About 20% of our country was occupied by Russia after the war,” says David Katsarava, "but the occupation did not end in 2008.” In violation of international law, a growing number of border fences are being erected on Georgian territory. They divide villages and separate local people from their fields, friends and relatives. What’s more, reports David Katsarava, the border itself is quietly being shifted further and further into Georgia. The government in Tbilisi appears powerless to take any action - which is why David Katsarava, a former actor, set up a civilian patrol group in 2017. He and his group are up against heavily armed Russian security forces manning the disputed border. Anyone who comes too close to them faces arrest - an especially acute problem where there is no border fence. Shepherd Gogi Papitashvili no longer knows where he can send his cattle to graze. His pastures by the South Ossetian demarcation line are shrinking as the occupiers continue to advance. He’s already been arrested by them three times. David Katsarava and his volunteer group go on patrol almost daily along the occupation line to document the occupiers’ illegal activities - and, as a last resort, to try to stop them. Georgia asked for it. They thought they had the vest on just because the US was backing them, but got abandoned by the West the moment Russia marched in.
Zelensky thought the same and Ukraine pays the price for it, unless he surrenders.

We have some drug addicts here in the USA. Just because they ask to have drug lords in their lives should we all have to suffer those same drug lords because a few want them? I think not.

At the end of the day, Sakaashvili, who dragged Georgia into this mess, was voted by the people, so they are in a way comlplicit.
They should be lucky that they aren't getting bombed into the stone age like the US would normally do.

As for Ukraine, Russia warned Zelensky many times not to let the US use Ukraine as their political gain, but he didn't took Putin serious. The Demilirization in Ukraine is on him. All he can do now is to give up or Russia will make him surrender.

Besides, Turkey, America's largest ally, has been occupying northern cyprus for decades and recently a part of Syria. The US didn't care the least, why should they care now.

Wrong. Per Ukraine it is all on Putin and his "boot licking" lackeys who agreed with him that he should invade and kill people in another country.

As far as that mess goes in Syria Putin bought it too. Any dickwad that will attack people in hospitals and people trying to flee conflict zones deserves exactly what Putin and his "boot licking" "Yes men" will be getting now and in the near future.

Americans have no right to Judge Russia regarding Ukraine.
After all, its the US who aimlessly bombards cities and kills civilians by the hundreds. The US didnt said a thing when Israel took Golan, when Turkey took Northern Cyprus, but now they make a big deal with Russia goes to demilitarize Ukraine.

Putin has already warned that if Zelensky doesnt agree to the terms and surrende, Ukraine's statehood might be at risk. He can say goodby to Ukraine and hello to Novorussia.

You are talking about Cyprus? Good lord, how many years ago was that?

The problem now is YOU are bombing the crap out of CIVILIAN targets JUST like you did and do in Syria. You, who support your leader, don’t care if you kill civilians.

Of course the US isn’t perfect, but unlike you we are free to voice our dissent and aren’t jailed by the thousands for doing so.

The US did endorse Turkeys campaign in Cyprus though as they endorsed Israels move to take the golan height from Syria.
