This is turning into a huge clusterfuck for Russia. I've also read how Russian troops absolutely do not trust the Chechens, who many still view as their enemies, unlike the Ukrainians they are told to kill.


Russian soldiers are apparently so sick of Vladimir Putin’s “stupid” war in Ukraine that they are now openly plotting with their own commanders to go AWOL.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate released a recording on Thursday that is said to show precisely that happening, with a soldier heard in a purportedly intercepted phone call detailing the plan.

The soldier, identified by Ukrainian intelligence as one of many men “mobilized” by authorities in occupied Donetsk, complains that he and others in his battalion are so under-equipped that even the Chechen forces fighting alongside them mock them as “meat.”

“Everyone who is here … I’m telling you … everyone is planning to take off on the 26th,” the purported soldier says.

“Isn’t that stupid?” says the other man, apparently a relative back home.

“Isn’t it stupid that we’re here?” the unnamed soldier shoots back.

He goes on to explain that the troops have decided to abscond “on the basis of the fact that they put us on the front with absolutely nothing.”

“I want to tell you even more. A commander is leaving with us and even a staff colonel,” he says, adding that they made the decision to flee on the advice of a lawyer.

“They don’t provide us with any [equipment],” he says, adding that the rifles given to snipers are “from 1945.”

Russia considered it a necessary measure due to increased efforts by America against Russia's vital interests of keeping their country intact and strong.

Both sides must fully understand the other side's talking points by now. America's propaganda blitz can perhaps convince more countries to cooperate with America's aggression, but it's likely now that few countries will be persuaded to switch sides.

The current situation in which the side opposing US aggression is larger in people numbers but slightly less in countries numbers.

Russia is staying invested in this war against America because they understand what will be either won or lost. l

This war almost certainly means the last fight for Russia, even though America can fail to win it's goals this time but still live to fight another day. That isn't possible for Russia and so we all should look at the possibilities.

My suggestion is that it's going to have to either end in nuclear war.

It will end with Russia using a tactical nuclear weapon and then the issue will go to the UN for settlement.

The latter is less likely IMO but it will put America in the unenviable position of needing to act first to start WW3. That's very unlikely to happen.

Don't underestimate the surrender caucus or forget that Biden is their leader. When have they ever failed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

They are saying Milley and Gerasimov had a call yesterday or this morning. A few days ago it was Austin and Shoigu.

France and Germany have been wobbly from the beginning. Biden won't approve longer range artillery because he's afraid it will be used to strike positions on Russian territory. Meanwhile the JOF is getting pounded in the Donbas.

They're looking for an off-ramp for Putin, but Zelensky is not interested in giving up territory and he's the only one with the balls to tell Putin to fuck off.

Nonsense, there were no threats or even challenges to Russia's security by either the US or NATO. The vital interess you refer to is Putin's ambition to reacquire the former soviet states. There is no war between Russia and the US; the US is simply helping the Ukrainian people resist the Russian invasion by sending military and humanitarian aid, just as the US once helped Russia resist the German invasion by supplying Russia with military and humanitarian aid in WWII. Without that US aid it is not clear Russia would even have survived as a state the Germany invasion. Putin has to try to sell the lie that Russia is at war with the US or NATO to the Russian people in order to keep their support for his imperialist adventure in Ukraine but there is no rational basis for his contention.

The US and Europe are not at war with Russia and the aid they are providing to Ukraine in order to not have to go to war with Russia when a NATO state is attacked, so whatever it costs the West is a bargain compared to the alternative, and the war will not end and the sanctions will increase and lead to the end of commercial and political connections between Russia and the US which will eventually include all energy exports and even Asian nations, including China, will strictly limit economic ties with Russia for fear of running afoul of US and European sanctions. Russia's future will lie to the East, and still Ukrainian forces will continue to attack Russia forces in Ukraine with US and European weapons and neither the war nor the sanctions will end.

For how many years? I don't see how it can end while Russia remains in Ukraine because the alternative is war between Russia and NATO. Will Russia launch a nuclear attack on the US and NATO? That's a question the world has had to live with ever since the 1950's and since Russia would be destroying itself if it did, no one seems to take those threats seriously. Will Russia use nukes in Ukraine? Maybe but if it does the Ukrainians will continue to attack Russian forces in Ukraine with US and European weapons and the sanctions will continues to increase and Russia's isolation in the world will become nearly complete.

Since it is clear that the only way Russia can have a peaceful and prosperous future is to withdraw from Ukraine, that's what Russia will do and that's how the war will end.
