Russia In New ‘Red Line’: Western Countries Supplying Weapons To Ukraine Will “Bear Responsibility”

28 Feb 2022
Update(1449ET):
Already Putin has previously been on record as saying Western actions such sanctioning a sitting head of state or targeting the central bank would be viewed as an “Act of War”. But now another red line has been drawn, following more and more European governments – most notably Germany – ditching their policies of neutrality when it comes to shipping their weapons into foreign conflicts:

And now with Switzerland closing its airspace to Russian flight traffic, there’s a near total European blockade of airspace outside Russia…

Zelensky has described the talks as occurring with “no preconditions” while also noting they were unlikely to produce results. Additionally as Bloomberg describes, “The low profile of the Russian delegation, at deputy ministerial level, further weighed on expectations of any breakthrough.”
The Ukrainian president said Sunday he “doesn’t really believe” there will be a breakthrough with the Russians, but expressed there could be “a chance, however small, to de-escalate the situation” – according to his words carried in regional media.

And in another breaking development, the United States as suspended the operations of its embassy in Minsk, Belarus – which also comes after this weekend the State Department began telling US nationals inside Russia to begin planning their departure given widespread European airspace closures around Russia.

Commentary:
If Russian military is still trying to take over the Ukraine, they’re not trying very hard, or, Putin does have the military he thought he had.
Reports coming from the Ukraine claim that Russian forces are using banned munitions like thermobaric and cluster bombs withing the city limits of Ukraine towns and cities.
It's a good thing that 'Go Fund Me' isn't being used to help the Ukrainians.
If Contributions to Canada's Freedom Convoy was illegal meddling in another country’s affairs. Would donating to the arming of Ukraina be deemed legitimate, not be sent to the intended recipient(s)?
Given the fact that the U.S. and NATO has sent anti-tank and anti-air weapons Ukrainians have made the Russians pay a very high price for this invasion.
Intelligence has estimated that more than 5,000 Russians have so far been killed.
In any case, the actions taken by Putin to invade the Ukraine has taken on world proportions.

Those countries will pay no appreciable price, because like you said, actions taken by Putin to invade Ukraine have taken on world proportions and the world as a whole, in pretty much one voice is telling Putey to Fuck Off.

I just hope all that western virtue signaling doesn't get them a nuke for their trouble.

Did you ever consider all those weapons will have to be replaced.....Who's getting rich off that?

It boggles the mind how one dimensional the thinking is when there's virtue signaling to be done.

The results of Putin's actions will be painful on those people that have had to live under his thumb all these years and as long as he is in power.
The Ruble has already taken a devastating hit with a 30% loss in value today alone.

Those countries will be fine in the long run. In Russia, they are trying to avoid or stop runs on the banks as Russians get pennies on the ruble, but Ukrainians are happy to their money in Ukrainian currency and banks.

Biden’s CIA Director Doesn’t Believe Biden’s Story about Ukraine

Were a reporter to read Burns’ quotes to White House press secretary Jen Psaki today, she’d likely accuse them of “parroting Russian talking points.” But Burns is hardly alone. From inside the US government, many officials warned that US policy toward Russia might bring disaster. William Perry, Bill Clinton’s Defense Secretary from 1994 to 1997, almost resigned because of his opposition to NATO expansion. He has since declared that because of its policies in the 1990s, “the United States deserves much of the blame” for the deterioration in relations with Moscow. Steven Pifer, who from 1998 to 2000 served as US ambassador to Ukraine, has called Bush’s 2008 decision to declare that Ukraine would eventually join NATO “a real mistake.” Fiona Hill, who gained fame during the Trump impeachment saga, says that as national intelligence officers for Russia and Eurasia she and her colleagues “warned” Bush that “Putin would view steps to bring Ukraine and Georgia closer to NATO as a provocative move that would likely provoke pre-emptive Russian military action.”

Commentary:
Well, we all pretty much said that Bill Clintons antics over a number of issues would cost us for a long time to come and here we are again.

The EU has a pattern of prioritizing commerce over security but these moves by Vlad seem to have shaken them awake. They understand that if he can do this in Ukraine, he can do this against NATO.

Unlike Obama, a red line by Putin is dangerous.

I think Joey Xi Bai Dung would not cross that line. Jinping has a lot of dirt on Joey and Hunter.
Joey sold his soul to China.
