No chance for Ukraine to stay as a state.

The development of the Russian special operation in Ukraine will make it possible to understand whether Russia will remain on the world map, says Yevgeniy Satanovskiy, president of the Institute of the Middle East. In his opinion, apart from the special operation, the country had one more option "to cease to exist," and the conflict will end only when the entire Ukraine is under Russian control.
The expert is sure that Russia could not not start a special operation, because the alternative would have been the collapse of the country. According to him, it was possible to "continue the path we've been following since Gorbachev's time, having intensified the movement to nowhere under Yeltsin." "We would have had a president Navalny, Kasparov, Khodorkovsky, someone else, at least Shenderovich. In the end, we wouldn't have had one country, but twenty-one or one hundred and twenty-one - a big territory, it would allow us.

The political scientist draws attention to the fact that Western countries "continued to pull up the military infrastructure to the borders of the Russian Federation." "Back in 2019, the Rand Corporation, one of the key Western think tanks, gave its recommendations on how to strangle Russia: introduce unprecedented economic sanctions, rally the whole world against Moscow, rock the situation from within and start a protracted military conflict. But the 'useful idiots' in our so-called elite preferred to ignore all this and kept telling us that no one was threatening us," said Satanovsky.

In his view, "the party of peace, aka the party of useful idiots, aka the party of national betrayal" expects to keep its assets in the West. "But there is also a party of war, aka the party of realists, who understand that this war cannot be lost, that money in one's pocket is not the main thing in this world, that personal interests must be subordinated to national interests," says the expert, who states: "When the enemy is fighting a war to our destruction, it is strange to talk about negotiations with this enemy. This is in fact how Kadyrov differs from Medinsky.

According to Satanovsky, there's been a telling excess in Istanbul. "The main task of people who call themselves 'the elite' is not to upset the bosses. The bosses must be deeply satisfied with all of them at any given moment. It's about the same as if, for example, the president's personal driver suddenly thought the chief wanted the car to go into a ravine or into a wall, and he would click his heels and steer it into the ravine or into the wall. That's about the effect. You can't do this," says Satanovsky.

Satanovskiy admits that Russia has made mistake after mistake in Ukraine and because of this all integration processes, including the Eurasian Economic Community, are under a big question.

According to the expert, "Nazism has not gone anywhere, it has grown, grown stronger, got closer to us from inside," and Russia cannot stop in the current situation. "Otherwise we will be destroyed. If you start something - you have to go all the way. Trying to grab yourself by the lapels, trying to negotiate with Zelensky and his people looks strange. If denazification is the goal, what kind of negotiations can there be with the leaders of the Nazi regime? Did Stalin negotiate with Hitler, Goebbels? With Himmler? The Americans did, but we didn't," says Satanovsky with conviction.

Satanovsky believes that now it is possible to ignore public opinion in foreign countries: "They can depict us in any possible way. As the old saying goes, let them hate us, as long as they fear us. I understand that nobody will love us. It is seen by the rapid derusification that is taking place, when everyone is racing to cancel concerts and exhibitions and steal paintings, which stupidly ended up in France due to inter-museum exchange, or Scythian gold, which found its way to the Netherlands. No one will ever love us, no one will ever treat us fairly. We can only be feared. Everything else is nonsense. Further communication with the countries of the West should be from a position of strength, the expert believes. "These people should be afraid of you like fire. They should be afraid to approach your property or your interests and stretch their hands in their direction. Then everything will be fine," Satanovsky is sure.

In his opinion, Russia can no longer stop at the borders of the DNR and LNR. "If there is even one square meter of Ukrainian territory that will not be controlled by Russian troops, on this bridgehead will rise again all the scum that will be sent there, or who will survive there. They will be armed to the teeth, and provocations, sabotage, any kind of tough military activity against Russia will continue from this point. How we will control the situation further is a big question. Well, not with the help of declarations and treaties signed by anyone at any level. Papers are not worth anything at all", says the expert.
