Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk 2/23/15: Interventionism Kills: Post Coup Ukraine 1yr Later...

He should have been President. Rand is like the poor man's Ron Paul. :D

Nah, Ron Paul's policies were too cartoonish and amatuerish to be realistic. His policy essentially boiled down to two words:

"Abandon it".

Military alliances, federal regulation, constitutional protections, environmental protections, trade agreements, income tax, the federal reserve, it was the same cookie cutter solution for every problem. With no concern for consequence.

That's really best suited for youtube videos. Which is where Ron Paul has rightly ended up.

What's your solutions? And how are they so superior?

Depends on the issue. See, any rational solution would take the situation and the consequences into account.

Ron Paul never did. Which is why we're listening to him via youtube.

Well then it should be very easy for you to demonstrate how your solutions are so superior to his. Otherwise, you're just spewing Bullshit Talking Points.

And he was right. Government are takers who have mandated their cut. Do you think that we were ever meant to spend 30 or 40 years working to pay off a small plot of land and to spend a quarter of our potential income on health care before we even have actual health problems? You're living the cartoon, dude.

Paul is an ideologue. A man that believes in implementing his principles regardless of the cost or consequence.

What would be the effects of eliminating the income tax and replacing it with nothing? Withdrawing from all military alliances? Returning to the Gold Standard? Abandoning all trade agreements? Stripping Americans of constitutional rights? Withdrawing all troops? Eliminating environmental protections? Eliminating the FED?

Paul didn't know, nor did he care. As cost and consequence has nothing to do with his ideology.

Alas, cost and consequence are immediately relevant in the real world. And the real world was simply more nuanced and complex than Ron Paul's 'one solution for every problem' approach could have possibly managed.

He was never suited for the job of president. And he'll never have it. Nor should he.

Paul's the anti ideologue. He rightfully believes that we shouldn't be defying our Constitution if we want the utmost stability. Ideologues such as yourself are willing to betray that.

We had no federal income tax for most of our history. Why do we need to be overtly militaristic? Stripping Americans of Constitutional rights? I think you mean restoring Constitutional rights. The Fed is f'd up.

Ron Paul was perfectly suited for the presidency. You telling me that a well known liar who struggles with seventh grade math is more suited than an honorable man who practiced medicine? I don't think you're genuine in your beliefs.
