Romney's Racist Ad

How do you know when the left has a better idea? What set of rules do you use to distinguish good ideas from bad ones?

Pretty easy one. If it works, it's a good idea.

We're still arguing over whether the New Deal worked. We're still arguing over whether Obamanomics worked. How do you know when something works?

Ignore partisanship, go with results.

If you get the desired results, it works.

Your naivete about how society works couldn't be more profound.

Nobody but crazy partisans are still arguing the New Deal didn't do the job.

The New Deal did exactly what it was supposed to do. It gave us forty years of unprecendented prosperity. Even Republicans like Nixon and Eisenhower acknowledged that and didn't try to change it.

In other words, you're a liberal, not a pragmatist. A liberal is someone who believes programs like the New Deal worked. So called "pragmatists" are just people lie about the political beliefs. They claim the support programs like the New Deal "worked" rather than admitting they believe in socialism.

Wrong. Prosperity is the normal state of affairs in America. What's abnormal is a depression that last for 15 years because some goose stepping fascists keeps trying to "fix" the economy with massive government boondoggles Politicians don't ever cut government programs that pay benefits to millions of people. That's just shear political calculation, not a statement of belief.

I kind of have to conclude you suffer from some brain disease.

Before the New Deal, most Americans lived in crowded urban tenaments for not very good wages, and when a depression came along (Oh, by the way, they stopped using the term "Depression" after FDR, because they were never that bad again.)

I have often said, we need to construct a 1900 Village, where we actually had some of the rugged individualism you talk about. Child Labor, unsafe working conditions, crowded tenements. Make some of these "Conservatives" actually live there for a year, and then tell us how wonderful it would be.

Yeah, it was awesome to live in that time period if you were a robber baron. Not so much if you were one working schlubs.

Once upon a time, Republicans actually kind of got this. Teddy Roosevelt, Harding, Ike, Nixon. today's bunch, I think they are too in love with that Multi-National Corporation Money to see average americans and their plights.

bripat whines and pines. Sheesh. The illegals are not going home because, bri', they are 'home', and their children here are the same citizens as you, and those children withing ten years will have to the political power to prevent their parents to be sent home.

Romney is just playing to the base.

Rick Perry, rightfully, stood up for in state tuition for children who had been attending (by Supreme Court Ruling) American schools and graduated from American High Schools. Allowing them to attend college in the state they LIVE IN at the rate of other residents of the state, is really just expanding on the SCOTUS ruling that requires public schools to provide an education to these children.

I do believe that in states that allow this, like Texas, the dropout rate for High School students goes down.

But what happened when Rick Perry actually got something right? His ratings dropped considerably. Romney is watching and learning...xenophobia plays well in Peoria...

Or New Hampshire
....Or....
