"The University of Wisconsin at Madison is spending $50,000 to move a giant rock that leftist students insist is a symbol of racism—all because a century ago some publication used a racial epithet to refer to the rock.

Chamberlin Rock, which was positioned in the same spot on campus since 1925, is a boulder named after Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, a former university president and geologist. But according to students who testified at a Campus Planning Committee meeting last November, the rock is racist because it was referred to with a racial slur in a 1925 newspaper headline.

“The derogatory nickname was commonly used at the time to refer to any large, dark rock,” relayed a university press release. “The Wisconsin Black Student Union, in partnership with the Native American student organization Wunk Sheek, led an effort to remove the rock from campus. UW–Madison’s main campus is on ancestral Ho-Chunk land.”

The students, however, have evidently yet to unearth evidence that the professor the rock is named after is a racist. Instead, the boulder was characterized as oppressive because a writer 100 years ago referred to it with an outdated term, “nig-erhead,” which was used by people at the time to describe darker rocks, as noted by the university."

So...
1) The frail, fragile, easily-offended students can NOT produce any evidence that the PROFESSOR (not the rock) the rock was unofficially referred to as was / is racist.

2) Some author referred to the rock using a slang term used at the time - there is no official name given to the rock. It is like if I - some unknown author - wrote and article and in that article referred to a statue by some derogatory name it would make the statue 'racist'. WTF?!

So the Univ of Wisconsin is demanding the school get rid of the rock, and, at a cost of $50,000 to the school, they are going to have the rock moved to appease their campus snowflakes.

Yuh know, insane Democrats / liberal extremists are teaching us all so much....like how they can't tell the difference between boys and girls, how thousands of illegals streaming across our border every day means 'The Border Is Closed', and now how ROCKS can be RACIST....

That’s not sufficient reasoning for a vibrant American democracy that should not allow the reification of one race at the expense of other races. The Ho-Chunk themselves had a name for the rock before White Eyes or the African imports arrived, and current news implies that the Ho-Chunk have voted on the issue. We have not only not seen any evidence of that, it is only proven that UW Ho-Chunk students have aligned with black racism on campus.

What makes this even more cowardly is that the actual catholic-style genuflection is carried out while (most [italics]) UW students have yet to arrive for the Fall semester. They will have reading material published in three dimensions to consider when they get here.
