This all begs the question of why all of this stuff was named after a bunch of stupid loser white guys in the first place, along with all the statues. Just here in northern Virginia alone we ended up with a "Jefferson Davis Highway," a "Quantrell Avenue," "J.E.B. Stuart High School," etc. Why was it ever necessary to plaster these guys' names all over everything? Only people who have done something beneficial for the whole nation and our values should be honored in public spaces. The rest belong in museums and history books.

It was done in an effort to intimidate Black Americans and justify the codification of Black codes, Jim Crow, and segregation – having nothing to do with ‘honoring’ Civil War veterans.

Democrats won what was officially pushed back in the 1960's. They believed in utopia for all. It did not materialize. When we cut the last string to gold in the Bretton Woods post WW 2 agreement it opened the doors to massive Fiat Currency Printing and most of the debt we have accumulated in our history. Joe Biden has been there for damn near all of it. Massive Debt is our foundation now. And we need it to keep going or take the pain and slowly balance the budget.

Just because the name of a street originally named for a white guy is being renamed for a black guy doesn't make it "race baiting." Toussaint was a local hero, while Lee was not. Race should not matter in deciding whom to honor, but would those who think that it is race baiting be happier if the street was re-named for a white person? Here's a grossly incomplete list of white people who were leaders on our American march toward freedom that might make these people happy if they don't have a problem honoring people not connected with the local area, which they obviously don't:
