The mayor, city council, and at minimum the police commissioner (If not the entire police force), of each city that has peaceful marches turn into riots should be held accountable and as accomplices in any tragedy transpiring. Especially if they tell the police force to stand down and allow the riot to occur. Counter protestors who show up and do not have permission to protest should automatically be arrested, taken into custody, and not released until a fine is paid. If the city management can not or will not provide for the safety or peaceful marches then each of them should have to pay a fine and the city too with a fine based on the size of the population of said city.

You don't need permission to be arrested for unlawful assembly either.

A protest of a public event isn't unlawful assembly.

If there's no permit to assemble three or more people to counter protest a peaceful public event then it's an unlawful assembly... Especially if violence ensues.

If the city officials allow the last by standing down/aside then they are at fault.

In your world four people can't go to lunch together without a permit. You are an idiot.

Wrong!!!!!

You're free to do so peacefully.

Cause problems, even there, and you're free to enjoy local government housing and cuisine.

Which is inherently anti-freedom, against the constitution and fascist in its own right. The very idea of requiring a permit to exercise your RIGHT to speak and assemble is asinine in the extreme. It is clearly unconstitutional.

Unfortunately, our government has not really cared what is and is not constitutional for a while.

My point is that I'm more likely to side with a group who went through the steps of gaining permits to hold a peaceful assembly on such and such a day at such and such a place than a group that assembles to counter-protest the first group without such permission.

I find it more likely that the second group is there to cause problems.

Sure but that was not the point that you made. You directly stated:

"Counter protestors who show up and do not have permission to protest should automatically be arrested, taken into custody, and not released until a fine is paid."

And that is, IMHO, inherently fascist and counter to what this nation stands for.

They had a Soros permit, blessing and $25 per hour for their counter protesting.
