Good question. After all, almost every bit of this Trump/Russian connection information was out there way before the election.

In my opinion, there have been a couple of reasons:

1. The press loved Trump. Remember, they gave him an hour long free infomercial at his Scottish Gold Course and a free infomercial at his DC Hotel.

2. They didn't think he would actually win. Estimates put his free air time at nearly 5 billion.

3. The press was conditioned to go after Mrs. Clinton after thirty years of investigation and attacks from the GOP.
Is Hillary Clinton the smartest woman in the world?

Look at the two foundations. Nearly every paper in the world sent investigators to go after the Clinton Foundation. They were so sure there must be something there.
In the mean time, a single reporter brought down the criminal organization knows as the "Trump Foundation" and won the Pulitzer Prize.

Well, they may have not bothered taking a close look at Trump, but they are now. You can bet on it.

I don't think the GOP base understands the trouble Trump is in.

Well, they are investigating him now. Better late than never.

"The press loved Trump."

And still does.

During the election – and now as president – the media continue their efforts to normalize Trump.

Indeed, the 2016 election with regard to Trump was the press’ most significant First Amendment failure since the start of the failed, illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003.

You are an idiot.

They didn't love Trump. They underestimated the disdain the American People away from the coasts held the media in.
