Retiring GOP Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey trashes Trump minutes after saying the Trump tax cuts "created the best economy in my lifetime"

Sometimes the elite mistakes huge tax cuts for them on a personal micro-level as the economy for everybody on the macro level...

Then they wonder why, despite their delusions; the majority of the country thinks their policies suck...

I want President Joseph Biden (God's choice) to offer Pat Toomey ANY position he wants. Ambassador to France, England, or wherever, or a position in the administration - whatever he wants - to step down now, and let the Democrat Governor of Pennsylvania name his replacement, giving the Democrats a 51-49 Majority. Then Manchin can go fuck himself.

what will we do without him?

LOL! When did Trump EVER describe any aspect of his job performance as anything other than the best ever? Additionally, you would have to believe that all Republicans were expected to say the exact same thing. It wouldn't even surprise me if they were TOLD to say the same thing.

"Nobody has done what we have done." Remember that? The only surprise in that statement is that he used the pronoun, "we."

As for me, I would argue that, compared to the rest of the world, the economy was better in the 1950s and 1960s. I would also say that the economy was far better under Clinton.

I like the idea of Joe Manchin switching parties from D to R like Governor Justice did.
WV is a deep red state, and a democrat senator from WV is wayyyyyyy on the wrong side of the majority.
Then Manchin can tell Shumer and the Squad to go fuck themselves.

I like this idea.

I like it a lot!

I'm waiting to see who the PA GOP puts up to replace Toomy in 2022.
The democrats have a bunch of relatively unknowns, and House Rep Conor Lamb who is playing musical chairs since his district got merged with a deep red district, so re-election for Conor looks doubtful.

The republicans in the running for Toomy's seat include former U.S. Reps. Charlie Dent, Ryan Costello and Lou Barletta, so the senate seat is wide open, and will most likely be a vote on Xiden and the democrats leftist policies versus going back to "America First Populism". I like Lou Barletta's chances in that senate race. We'll see.

I give Trump credit for a couple of contributions and I have defended him when I think he is being unfairly treated, usually by the media. But if I am given a couple of sentences to sum-up my opinion on Trump, it is pretty much a trashing. That is largely based on his post 2020 election behavior. Point is, good things can be said about a person with whom there is a negative overall opinion.

Totally agree. Trump is damaged goods. That said, Trump showed us the winning formula, "America First Populism". Trump's policies get the GOP many democrat votes, including the KeystoneXL pipeline voters, the UAW since GM moved their EV production to Mexico, plus many manufacturing voters, gas users, electricity users, and people getting hurt by runaway inflation.
I'm not voting Trump in the primary, but if he wins the nomination, I will vote for him over Kamala.

Would be a good move

How can you vote for someone who is not even man enough to admit he lost?

A better move would be Manchin switching from D to R, like Governor Justice. WV is a deep red state. Manchin is no prog.

Republicans would just call him a RINO

I think it is not just a case of Trump rejecting his loss, but a case of rejecting that loss in a dangerous manner. For the record, I never voted for Trump. It pains me to some extent to say this but I have voted 3rd party the last two presidential elections. But I do not think that is my fault.

Because Trump is 1,000,000x better at being president than any democrat. Trump has personality issues, but all in all, I like his many "Promises Kept", and his policy differences with democrats, like these:
Border and immigration policies
Energy policies
Military posture
The Green New Deal
"Wokeness"
Law and Order vs Anarchy
Reprogram the US education system: Critical Race Theory vs Traditional/Family Values
God vs atheism
China and trade policies
insourcing jobs vs outsourcing jobs by taxing corporations so much they relocate
HR-1 grab for one-party rule
Make DC & PR new states taking over the US senate forever
Replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote
Totally turning the US into a socialist/failed state.
Packing the US Supreme Court with Leftists

LOL!! Republicans would canonize him, declare him royalty, and let him be Senate Majority Leader. <g>

Manchin is no RINO. WV is solid Trump Country. Manchin fully supports Trump's energy policy and he rejects the dems' Green New Deal. So I'm amazed Joe Manchin hasn't switched parties already?!

Trump failed miserably when faced with a crisis in his Presidency.

Instead of rallying the country to fight COVID, he denied it was a threat, lied to the people, divided the nation and looked for an easy way out.

Trump developed three vaccines in record time. Instead of Fauci's 4-years and 2m lives, it was 10-months saving about 1.4m lives, and the US economy! You're welcome.
