Republicans voted to cut funding for embassy protection.

It just doesn't get any more insane then this..

Seriously?

I suppose you did not watch the hearing where the State Department said that money for security was not an issue.

Except I work in the real world. Funding is always a problem.

Not enough funding..generally means you make do what what you have.

And put a brave face on it.

Nope, sorry, wont let you get away with that. The State Department said that funding for security was not an issue and was not taken in to account in denying an increase of security for Benghazi. Benghazi had less security than any of our embassies in friendly countries. Not to mention that our embassy in Italy recently threw a "going green" party that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars complete with crystal glasses, champagne, ordurves, etc.. I watched all four hours of the hearing on c-span. It is open to the public. Funding for security was and is not an issue by the State Departments own admission.

The legislation that media matters is referring to, never passed the senate. This is a deliberately false argument. It's ridiculous that LOLberal turds have to be so dishonest all the time.

Bill Summary & Status - 112th Congress (2011 - 2012) - H.R.1 - Major Congressional Actions - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

2/11/2011 Introduced in House
2/19/2011 Passed/agreed to in House: On passage Passed by the Yeas and Nays: 235 - 189 (Roll no. 147).
3/9/2011 Senate floor actions: Returned to the Calendar. Calendar No. 14.

This was voted on in the house only. It was returned to the calendar by the senate and therefore, is not a legitimate argument from LOLberals. You're all morons for buying this loaded accusation.

Erm..

For fiscal 2013, the administration requested $2.15 billion in funding for the worldwide security protection program, a larger increase from the previous year. The House countered with a proposal to increase the program to $1.934 billion.

The House appropriations bills funding the State Department and foreign operations for fiscal 2013 and 2012 did not receive floor votes as standalone bills. Instead, they were used or intended as starting points for negotiations with the Senate and the administration.

A normally obscure disagreement over funding levels to improve embassy security has taken on new relevance in the wake of the attack in Libya and violent protests at U.S. embassies in Yemen, Tunisia and Indonesia.

Don't let these little details clutter your "pooh-poohing" the argument.

:eusa_whistle:

And these cuts have not been passed into law. You're pushing strings. Show me the signed legislation by the white house that cuts embassy security for fiscal year 2012. These are proposals and have not been signed. Your argument is invalid. You are a tool.

It just doesn't get any more insane then this..

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has scheduled a fairly high-profile hearing today on security lapses at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. There's one nagging problem, however, that might cause Republicans some trouble.

For example, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), a member of Issa's committee, told Soledad O'Brien this morning that he expects to hear testimony about security that "didn't meet the basic, minimum standards required for a facility such as the one we had in Benghazi." Chaffetz added that policymakers have to "make sure it doesn't happen in other places around the world."

Asked if he'd voted to cut federal funding for security at U.S. embassies and consulates, Chaffetz responded, "Absolutely. Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country.... When you're in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things."The GOP's embassy security problem - The Maddow Blog

Seriously?

Come on Mitt! See if you can make this one go away? I am sure you can change a position or two here.

Doesn't matter what you "let me get away" with or not..or cherry picked out of context "facts" you are presenting here.

The big picture is that there was a request for more funding. It was cut.

Austerity comes with a price.

It goes further than funding. It includes allocation.

Why would the embassy in Vienna get a new Volt and a charging station and the embassy in Libya not get security? The answer is, that promoting obama's green energy is more important than people's lives, but we already knew that.

Direct testimony yesterday from the Deputy Sec of State said , "Funding had NOTHING to do with our decision to turn down the request for more security." You liberal LIARS are counting on Americans not being tuned in, but they are... Thanks to a new Media and people who care about integrity and TRUTH.. Americans are learning just how despicable you leftist LIARS are.

It's a pretty simple equation.

Less money = Less security.

More money = More security.

Not hard to understand..really.

That's the fun thing about math. It doesn't lie. :eusa_hand:

What's pretty simple is DIRECT TESTIMONY UNDER OATH. THREAD KILLER********FAIL

First of all was it all Republicans was it one Republican. These questions need to be answered. Secondly was this before or after a request for more security was asked for?

It was both dems and republicans. The negotiations on HR 1 appropriations was voted on by the house and then passed tot he senate. Where it was returned to calendar in 2011. No appropriations have been signed and no cuts have been passed int he budget by the administration. The legislation was returned to calendar 14 in March of 2011. Since then, no cuts have been passed into law.

Security requests from Banghazi should have been met as there were no financial burdens to not do so.

The LOLberals are once again, as usual, pushing string. Especially when one takes into account that LOLberals have been saying we need to cut defense funding and raise taxes anyway. Now, they want to skirt blame for failures by claiming defense spending cuts that were never passed into law..

These LOLberals are slimey pukes and have no integrity. Dishonesty is in the blood.

How about we defund PBS, NPR and Planned Parenthood and spend the money on embassy security.

Republicans blocked bill for embassy security,
but now blame Obama for killings in Benghazi?

Seems like Republicans are at it again. In fact, this has been their modus operandi from Day one of the Obama administration. Block, then complain, then lay the blame on the president.

So the State Departments assertion that funding for security was not an issue isn't relevant? And out of context? How? Perhaps you should watch this before taking word from the always debunked Maddow. http://www.c-span.org/Events/Congre...n-US-Consulate-Attack-in-Libya/10737434835-1/

Yeah, sure, it's all the fault of the Republicans. Only one thing wrong with that load of crap. If it was that easy to explain the administration would have hopped on it immediately rather than inventing their lie about the video, and harping on it continually. A full two weeks after the incident Barry blamed the video again in front of the U.N. for all the world to hear.

No, if in the Republicans they had a neatly wrapped scapegoat they would have used it in a nanosecond. But they didn't, so they lied. It's as simple as that.

The good news is though in 26 days for all practical purposes this awful administration is finished.

Part of which is available funding..

Just suppose it's true. There was no funding for the Libyan diplomatic corps. It is dangerous, the personnel asks for help. The 11th anniversary of 911 is coming up and you know that an attack is planned on that date. There is no money for enhanced security. What does a leader do?

They get their people OUT of there. If the British could do it, why not obama. Britian took their people out in June! There is no amount of cover up, misdirection or obfuscation that can change the facts.

Instead, obama takes that attack and tries to use it to bash America and apologize for our First Amendment.

Is it your opinion that the US should have quit Libya?

Where else should we be withdrawing our embassies from?

Didn't know you were an isolationist.

the only thing democrats have done well this is year is get the blame game right. They sure know how to blame everyone but themselves lol
