That sounds like you're saying we shouldn't hold a person responsible for something they said a while back as long as their actions today meet with approval, and they don't have to address what they said? That should make a lot of politicians sleep better at night. No more worry that a statement made in a drunken stupor at a frat party will come back to haunt someone who's voted the right way for a few years.
