Republicans Are Having Some Trouble Talking About Rape and Incest

Nope. Because other countries HAVE banned guns and DON'T have the levels of violence we do.

On the other hand, no country has ever successfully banned abortion.
I'm sure those countries Don't let their criminals right back out on the street either.

Well, you'd be wrong again.

The US locks up 2 million people and we have another 7 million on probation and parole.

Japan locks up 69,000 people.
Germany locks up 78,000 people.

That's what happens when you treat incarceration as a public service and NOT a money making opportunity for the Prison-Industrial Complex.

ā€˜By the time the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last week, 13 states were ready with so-called trigger laws that would ban abortions within their borders immediately. (Additional states had pre-Roe prohibitions in place that will now be enforced.) One notable thing about these trigger statutes, which have been gradually enacted over the past two decades, is that most of them do not make any exceptions for cases involving rape or incest.

This absolutist approach to abortion prohibition was once considered both morally and politically unthinkable, but came into vogue in red states thanks to the increasingly hard-line views that have come to dominate both the conservative movement and anti-abortion activism in particular. The reasoning behind it is straightforward enough: If life really starts at conception and abortion is murder, then terminating a pregnancy for any reason at all must be banned. The issue is that outside the world of conservative ideologues, it remains a wildly unpopular policy.

Take Yesli Vega, a GOP house candidate in Virginia, who was caught on tape during a campaign stop musing that women might be less likely to get pregnant in cases of rape. This is a long-running myth with deep origins in the anti-abortion movement, which might explain why it was proposed first by someone attending the campaign event. On the audio, first reported by Axios, the audience member asks: ā€œIā€™ve actually heard that itā€™s harder for a woman to get pregnant if sheā€™s been raped. Have you heard that?ā€ Vega responds: ā€œWell, maybe because thereā€™s so much going on in the body. I donā€™t know. I havenā€™t, you know, seen any studies. But if Iā€™m processing what youā€™re saying, it wouldnā€™t surprise me. Because itā€™s not something thatā€™s happening organically. Youā€™re forcing it.ā€

Well, it is kind of a black thing and there aren't that many blacks who've left the plantation.

We let violent criminals out all the time. Nice try though. Liberal prosecutors even get rid of the gun charge in robberies.

If it's a miscarriage, the fetus has not only died but been expelled from the body. A fetus that has died in utero but not expelled, needing removal is not an abortion. It is removing necrotic tissue.
Miscarriages can last for hours before the fetus actually dies, and the mother can face life threatening complications from miscarriages well before the fetus actually dies. Several women died from such complications in Ireland which used to have similar laws to what the GOP want to enact in the US There were literally cases where Irish doctors knew that a woman was going to die if the pregnancy wasn't terminated early and chose to let them die rather than risk going to prison becaue Irish law made it illegal to terminate pregnancies even in those circumstances.

There are dozens of GOP members of Congress who want to have those types of laws, and no exemptions at all, throughout the US.

All for choosing life of a child you go there? Hahaha youā€™re a sad fk
Are you responding to the wrong post?

If not, you appear to have completely & violently misunderstood what I was saying.

And that's sad indeed.

As was clearly demonstrated during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, the left wrong have no scruples whatsoever about using false claims of rape for the direct purpose of destroying lives and careers. Any reason to believe that they would have any less scruples about using false claims of rape for other purposes, with the victims of those false claims being mere collateral damage?
Liberals - not the left - but yes, exactly.

When the only loophole to receive an abortion on demand is one which requires a false claim of rape/incest, those false claims will abound.

The destruction will be epic, and not in any good way.

Actually, most GOP members of Congress want to ban abortions even in cases of rape and incest now. That used to be a extreme far right fringe idea that could get someone voted out of office, but it's gained alot of traction on the right in recent years.

MTG even wants to ban abortions when a pregnancy clearly threatens the health and/or life of the mother. She was a huge supporter of the Arizona law which protected doctors from civil and criminal liability of they lied to their patents, about complications in their pregnancy. That law actually made it illegal for a doctor to give truthful information to a patient, if that information would lead a woman to want to get an abortion, even if that information dealt with life threatening complications in the pregnancy, and shielded the doctors from any liability if the patient died or suffered physical harm from complications that the doctor knowingly lied to them about.

There is the process of miscarriage called miscarrying. A miscarriage is when the fetus has died and been expelled. When a fetus dies but not expelled it is necessary to remove the necrotic tissue. It is not an abortion, since, well, there is no living fetus. Although there have been endless tales of women being in life threatening circumstances such as you describe but I have never run across any.

If you can pin down a republican who does not support abortion to save the life of the mother, vote against that person. Make sure your state either supports abortion or provides for a judge to make the order upon showing of good cause. One thing is sure, the pro choice abortionists just went too far. They had to be reined in.

Very true. Every woman wanting an abortion will claim rape. The way to stop that is to mandate the woman participate in the prosecution of the rapist and provide DNA of the child and all of her male contacts to ascertain the father.

Republicsns are having problems SAYING 'incest'...

...while Democrats are having little trouble engaging in it:

Joe Biden took showers with his daughter

Hunter made porn movies with his cousin & screwed his dead brother's wife...

I hope they all used ptotection, unlike the time Hunter cheated on his wife with the pole dancer and got her pregnant...

Far better that a few ten year old incest victims will suffer producing a sufficient supply of adoptable (aka white) babies than a lot of women get to claim they were raped, and some weren't. God HAS SPOKEN

Actually, its the libs who have a problem with it.

Instead of crafting a new law designed to carve out abortion exceptions for these infrequent incidents, they are using them to demand abortion-on-demand up to the minute of birth for all pregnant chicks.

Its okay Clayton, some states will still allow you to murder infants so you will be fine.
