Third Parties are dumb......they never stand a chance...with 75 million voters Trump could clean out the republican party in one election....start over from there.....maybe keep Cruz and a few others...but primary and remove every single republican rather than start a 3rd party.......

Thoughts?

3rd parties are no longer dumb! Whooo hoooo- insert a perfect backflip here or your favorite ninja character! The country has just needed a candidate to break through the ice to gain enough of a percentage to be considered legit. Once a popular candidate wins on an independent ticket, this will instantly help keep things in check in our two-party corruptive system. I won’t go out on that limb to say it will happen in 2024, but the important thing is the momentum is growing!
Edit- wanted to add that understandably, some Republicans will not want this to happen thinking that this “new voter block” will be mostly folks from the center who lean right on most issues, but I look for the Democrats to split in half at some point due to their own rank and file divisions, so the concern that they’ll never win another election would be mute. The middle ground has always been the most usable surface.

Saying something is dumb is a rather childish way of trying to get your message across. It's not fitting for the CDZ section IMO. Can you elaborate on the word 'dumb', with an explanation of why you seem to be condemning third parties?

That doesn't elicit any great thinking but I can give you my though at least. Trump doesn't appear to have the appeal any longer to do what you suggest, even though I sincerely hope he tries and succeeds.

Is this really a good topic for the CDZ?

Calling third parties dumb isn't a violation of the CDZ....calling you dumb would be...i didn't call you dumb.

They don't have the infrastructure, they have to start from scratch........just much easier to take over the republican party by getting rid of all of them in one election cycle for the house and 3 in the Senate...

I think both parties are corrupt and need to be released to history. We need a right and left party that represents the vast majority of our country and not the extremist. Speaking of history Trump spent most of his life as a democrat and if you followed his policy it was far more centrist than extreme right. Trump was not controlled so he was targeted by those in control.
Any new parties will suffer the same fate until we truly learn who are the controllers.

You're failing to understand again. I didn't say it was a violation of the CDZ or anything else.

That's much better than just the word 'dumb'. And I disagree. If you want to know why I disagree, take a number.

Excellent...please try that.

Every republican should be primaried in 2022.

Mockery isn't helpful. Trump's magas are very serious about their support of their leader. Much better to try to find a common point on which Americans can agree.

This is an iffy thread for the CDZ but we should all try to make something useful out of it!

You have half of the answer but I think you need to add every democrat as well. Sometimes it may be appropriate to toss the baby out with the bath water.

Miss Candycorn- is that your contribution to the OP’s topic? I’m hoping you will give a perspective from your end of the spectrum, as all voices count unless you choose to rule yourself out with hate speech.

Donald- I can understand how hard it is to place any topic here in what is supposed to be clean debate.

But save Ted Cruz.

It's not that third parties are dumb.

It's that voters are too dumb to stop voting for the duopoly.

Which is why third parties never stand a chance.

:dunno:

Great point and accurate... to a point. Due to the way information is at our fingertips it is now crucial to develop new ways to be given ALL information - unlike the obvious efforts of those trying to mute the public’s access to having ALL available information and play politics like so many big tech Corps are doing. Even though there is a large subset of the population who only care about their immediate lives, and I mean nothing beyond what they believe directly affects them- you are unfortunately right. What’s also going on though is another large number of people (I’d like to think larger than the dumb downed populous subset) who is craving information and this has nothing to do with politics by the way. Any information known by a select few now that’s being stifled will eventually be known to all due to technology in five years from now will be like looking back 40 years.

The past couple of cycles have been a bit of an education campaign, and I mention that from the perspective of my own...oh...circles? Mainly for the purposes of adding relevance at a time when cable news entertainment and so many bloggers and editors are effectively peddling nothing more than a divide and conquer sort of political smut.

One of the best ways to really understand what is going on is to pay attention to legislation.

Now, that's not always easy. People are working, trying to make ends meet, which is especially trying today given how little they get from their dollar.

Of course, hardly any of the peole elected to represent the electorate read the bills themselves. Pelosi, for instance, perposely works around the process in order to lay a 3,000 page bill on them at the last minute with a little bit of candy so they just vote for it. And they shouldnlt be combining bills, each one should go on its own merit, but they won't do that because they know that they wonlt survive on their own.

We've been fortunate enough to get a few of our own people in there, of course our people read every bit of the legislation, even on short notice, employing staff to help that along. They do make us aware of what's actually in these bills and what the intentions behind them are, as well as what;s coming down the pike.

From there it's easier to actually make your own news, rather than just following along with the political smut that's being peddled in the mainstream, which really ignores all of the important stuff.

I'm kind of rambling here, sorry.

Great advice and not one ramble detected. I always enjoy reading your thought-provoking posts.

I personally need to up my game on reading legislation just as you mentioned...what goes on paper is the real game. I used to get a daily email through the weekdays connecting regular voters to their reps. It allows you to contact your reps, check daily for bills going up on the floor, who wrote them and who signed on, and the pass ratios. I had to hit the reject button, however, as it was clear it was a politically biased site so it's not worth a mention here lol I need to find an unbiased site to avoid the biased crap sold by the hour. I can do without being sold crap unless of course I'm at the crap store, only there do I deserve it fully ha!

The actualization of a valid, 3rd party coming into the two-party system would shake things all up without question. It can have a positive impact on the current two as they'll have to either evolve or give up-and likely nobody is giving up anything. People are expecting more from their candidates than formerly, or so it seems. Maybe, it's just that we have the tools to hear from everyone, almost all at once now. Agree fully that having multiple bills in one package needs to stop asap. All horse trading for votes and career politicians should have gone out with the turn of the century.

What a great day it will be for all Americans, well, the die-hard partisans (most partisans are not die-hards, I'm talking about the kind who wear cement shoes to bed)-they won't see it as a great day and will continue to vote party lines always..no matter what their party does or doesn't do.

The generational shifting that's been going on will continue to be more prominent, and something in addition to the Republican Party is needed to off-set and counter the far leftists' socialistic agenda.

Okay, now I am the one who earns an A for rambling- but at least it's an honest A.
