Even though the House passed the bloated infrastructure bill, Pelosi realized she could not get Democrats to pass the far more onerous welfare-expanding spending bill simultaneously - despite the Squad pushing for that for weeks.
It‘s because the more normal Democrats (normal being relative) saw that voters were opposed to the move toward socialism and that if they had any hope of retaining their seats, they better not agree to the new welfare expansion.
This, btw, was why Pelosi was pushing so hard for a vote before Tuesday night - and think how obnoxious and arrogant that was. She knows what she wants America to devolve into - and didn’t want to wait to see if Americans voted for or against that. Think what that says about the ruling party: they want to cram their socialist nonsense down Americans despite the fact that we are saying “NOOOO!”
